2017–18 Premier League Tournament
The 2017–18 Premier League Tournament was the 30th season of first-class cricket in Sri Lanka's Premier Trophy, with the matches played across three days each in the group stage. Chilaw Marians Cricket Club won the tournament, after finishing unbeaten in the Super Eight section of the competition. The tournament started on 8 December 2017 and concluded on 18 February 2018, with fourteen teams competing, split into two groups of seven. The top four teams in each group progressed to the Super Eight part of the tournament, with those matches played across four days. The teams that did not qualify for the Super Eight round competed in the Plate Championships. Galle Cricket Club finished with the fewest points in the previous tournament and were replaced by Sri Lanka Ports Authority Cricket Club for this edition of the competition, following their promotion from Tier B. Sri Lanka Cricket
Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) is the governing body for cricket in Sri Lanka. It was first registered with the Sri Lankan Ministry of Sports (Sri Lanka), Ministry of Sports as the Board of Cricket for Sri Lanka (BCCSL) on 30 June 1975 as a national sports body. The board was renamed in 2003. Tamil Union Cricket & Athletic Club is a first-class cricket team based in Colombo, Sri Lanka. They play their home games at P. Saravanamuttu Stadium. Badureliya Sports Club is a first-class cricket team in Sri Lanka. It plays its home matches at Surrey Village Cricket Ground, Maggona. In late 2008, the club threatened to boycott the Sri Lankan domestic tournaments due to their objections to being relegated to Tier B from their position in Tier A. Moors Sports Club is a first-class cricket team based in Colombo, Sri Lanka. History Moors Sports Club was founded by members of Colombo Grand Mosque at New Moor Street in the Colombo neighbourhood of Pettah. Like most clubs founded during the colonial era it was founded on ethno-religious lines and catered to the minority Moorish community. The club later moved to its present location at Muttiah Road in the neighbourhood of Slave Island. Sir Razik Fareed laid the foundation stone for a Club House on 25 September 1936 and Governor Sir Edward Stubbs declared open the pavilion on 27 February 1937. Chanaka Komasaru (born 10 September 1983) is a Sri Lankan cricketer. He has played more than 100 first-class matches in Sri Lanka since the 2000–01 season. Kaushal Silva
Jayan Kaushal Silva (born 27 May 1986), or Kaushal Silva, is a professional Sri Lanka test cricketer. He plays for the Sinhalese Sports Club and the Sri Lankan Test team. He made his first class debut in the 2001/02 season. He is a right-handed wicket-keeper batsman. Early career Silva started off his cricketing career at S.
