2017–18 Northwestern Wildcats Men's Basketball Team
The 2017–18 Northwestern Wildcats men's basketball team represented Northwestern University in the 2017–18 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. They were led by fifth-year head coach Chris Collins as members of the Big Ten Conference. They played their home games at Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois while the university's Welsh-Ryan Arena, underwent renovations. A winning record in the Big Ten as well, a Round-of-32 NCAA appearance in 2016–17, and the return of all key offensive contributors led to big expectations for the 2017–18 season. But the Wildcats stumbled to a poor start, finishing the season with a disappointing 15–17 record, 6–12 in Big Ten play to finish in 10th place. Chris Collins (basketball)
Christopher Ryan Collins (born April 19, 1974) is an American basketball coach who is currently the head men's coach at Northwestern University. Collins previously served as associate head coach of the Duke University men's basketball team and is the son of National Basketball Association (NBA) player, coach, and commentator Doug Collins. Playing career At Glenbrook North High School in Northbrook, Illinois, Collins played on the varsity basketball and won Illinois Mr. Basketball and McDonald's All American honors. After high school, he went on to play at Duke University. Collins received many honors for his play at Duke and was named to the All-ACC rookie team as a freshman in 1993. During his senior year, he was team captain, named Second Team All-ACC and also was awarded the Swett-Baylin Memorial Trophy, which is a trophy for Duke's MVP. The 2016–17 Maryland Terrapins men's basketball team represented the University of Maryland, College Park in the 2016–17 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. They were led by sixth-year head coach Mark Turgeon and played their home games at Xfinity Center in College Park, Maryland as members of the Big Ten Conference. They finished the season 24–9, 12–6 in Big Ten play to finish in a tie for second place. As the No. 3 seed in the Big Ten tournament, they lost to Northwestern in the quarterfinals. They received an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament. As a No. 6 seed in the West region, they lost in the First Round to Xavier. South Holland is a village and south suburb of Chicago in Cook County, Illinois, United States, within Thornton Township. The population was 21,465 at the 2020 census. History The area currently occupied by South Holland, Illinois, was first settled in 1846 by immigrants from South Holland, Netherlands. Pete Nance
Peter Lucas Nance (born February 19, 2000) is an American basketball player for the Cleveland Cavaliers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played college basketball at Northwestern and North Carolina. High school career Nance played at Revere High School. In his senior season, Nance was 6 feet, 10 inches tall and weighed 205 pounds. That year, Nance led Revere to its first district championship, and he was named the Ohio Division II Player of the Year. The Boston College Eagles are a Division I college basketball program that represents Boston College in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts, United States. Mount Clemens is a city in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 16,314 at the 2010 United States Census, 2010 census.
