2017–18 Nevada Wolf Pack Men's Basketball Team
The 2017–18 Nevada Wolf Pack men's basketball team represented the University of Nevada, Reno during the 2017–18 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Wolf Pack, led by third-year head coach Eric Musselman, played their home games at the Lawlor Events Center in Reno, Nevada as members of the Mountain West Conference. They finished the season 29–8, 15–3 in Mountain West play to win the Mountain West regular season championship. They defeated UNLV in the quarterfinals of the Mountain West tournament before losing in the semifinals to San Diego State. They received an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament where they defeated Texas in the first round, then made a stunning 22-point comeback in the final 11 minutes of the game to beat Cincinnati. This tied the second largest comeback in terms of deficit in NCAA Tournament history. They then lost to eventual Final Four team Loyola Chicago in the Sweet Sixteen. Eric Musselman
Eric Musselman (born November 19, 1964) is an American college basketball coach who is the current head men's basketball coach at the University of Arkansas. He is the former head coach of the Sacramento Kings and Golden State Warriors of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Between head coaching stints at Golden State and Sacramento, Musselman served as an assistant for the Memphis Grizzlies under Mike Fratello. He moved to the college coaching ranks in 2012 as an assistant at Arizona State. From 2014–19, he was the head coach for Nevada. The 2016–17 Colorado State Rams men's basketball team represented Colorado State University during the 2016–17 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The team was coached by Larry Eustachy in his fifth season. They played their home games at the Moby Arena on Colorado State University's main campus in Fort Collins, Colorado as members of the Mountain West Conference. They finished the season 24–12, 13–5 in Mountain West play to finish in second place. Tre'Shawn Thurman (born December 15, 1995) is an American professional basketball player for Filou Oostende of the BNXT League. He played college basketball for the Nevada Wolf Pack and the Omaha Mavericks. Early life and high school career Thurman was born in San Diego, California but grew up in Omaha, Nebraska. Cameron Oliver (born July 11, 1996) is an American professional basketball player who last played for the Zhejiang Lions of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA). He played college basketball for the Nevada Wolf Pack. High school career Oliver missed his junior year at Grant Union High School due to an ACL injury, before averaging 21.5 points and ten rebounds as a senior.
