The 2017–18 Michigan Wolverines men's basketball team represented the University of Michigan during the 2017–18 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Wolverines, led by head coach John Beilein in his 11th year, played their home games for the 51st consecutive year at the Crisler Center in Ann Arbor, Michigan. This season marked the program's 102nd season and its 101st consecutive year as a member of the Big Ten Conference. John Patrick Beilein ( ; born February 5, 1953) is an American professional basketball coach who currently serves as the Senior Player Development Advisor for the Detroit Pistons of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Before being hired by Detroit, Beilein served as the head coach of the Cleveland Cavaliers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Charles I. Matthews (born November 15, 1996) is an American professional basketball player for the Windy City Bulls of the NBA G League. He played college basketball for the Michigan Wolverines. He played his freshman season for the 2015–16 Kentucky Wildcats men's basketball team after attending St. Rita of Cascia High School. As a high school senior he was a 2015 Jordan Brand Classic All-American selection. The 2017–18 Villanova Wildcats men's basketball team represented Villanova University in the 2017–18 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. 2017 Big Ten Conference Men's Basketball Tournament
The 2017 Big Ten men's basketball tournament was the postseason men's basketball tournament for the Big Ten Conference held from March 8 through March 12, 2017 at the Verizon Center in Washington, D.C. It was the first Big Ten men's basketball tournament held outside the conference's traditional heartland in the Midwest. The championship was won by Michigan, which defeated Wisconsin in the championship game. As a result, Michigan received the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. 2017–18 Big Ten Conference Men's Basketball Season
The 2017–18 Big Ten men's basketball season began with practices in October 2017, followed by the start of the 2017–18 NCAA Division I men's basketball season in November. The 2018 Big Ten tournament was held at Madison Square Garden in New York. Due to the Big East's use of that venue for the 2018 Big East tournament, the Big Ten tournament took place one week earlier than usual, ending the week before Selection Sunday. The Butler Bulldogs men's basketball team represents Butler University in Indianapolis, Indiana. The school's team currently competes in the Big East Conference. They play their home games at Hinkle Fieldhouse. Billy Donlon
William Joseph Donlon (born February 10, 1977) is an American college basketball coach, currently an associate head coach at Clemson University. Playing career Donlon played four years of basketball at UNC Wilmington under Jerry Wainwright, scoring 901 career points and handing out 457 assists. After graduation, Donlon played professionally in France, Germany, and Ireland. Jeffrey Dennis Meyer (born June 21, 1954) is an American college basketball coach, most recently an assistant at Butler University. He was brought on in June 2017 as assistant coach by new head coach and former Michigan assistant LaVall Jordan.
