2017–18 KK Crvena Zvezda Season
The 2017–18 season is the 73rd Crvena zvezda season in the existence of the club. The team has been playing in the Basketball League of Serbia, in the Adriatic League and in the Euroleague. Overview During the summer of 2017, the head coach Dejan Radonjić didn't sign new contract, and the club parted ways with no less than eleven players, including key figures in the last couple of years such as Marko Simonović, captain Luka Mitrović, Charles Jenkins, Stefan Jović, Ognjen Kuzmić and Marko Gudurić. Young prospect Dušan Alimpijević was named as the head coach. Depleted roster was reinforced by James Feldeine and Taylor Rochestie, veterans Pero Antić and Marko Kešelj and a quartet of young players: Mathias Lessort, Nikola Radičević, Stefan Janković and Nikola Jovanović. Nebojša Čović
Nebojša Čović ( sr-Cyrl, Небојша Човић; 2 July 1958) is a Serbian businessman, basketball executive, and politician. Since 2011, he has been serving as the president of Crvena zvezda mts Belgrade. Early years and education Čović was born in Belgrade, PR Serbia, FPR Yugoslavia, and graduated from the University of Belgrade's Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. In 2000, he obtained his PhD at the same university. Political career In 1992, as a member of the Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS), 34-year-old Čović started his climb up the political ladder with a position of executive board vice-president in charge of economy and finances at the Belgrade city assembly. 2018–19 KK Crvena Zvezda Season
The 2018–19 season was the 74th Crvena zvezda season in the existence of the club. The team played in the Basketball League of Serbia, in the Adriatic League and in the EuroCup. Crvena zvezda won their first Adriatic Supercup trophy, the fourth Adriatic League Championship, and the 20th National Championship. Overview In summer 2018 the team started with signing Milan Tomić as a head coach. Soon to follow were the players Billy Baron, Michael Ojo and two centers from Radonjić era: Maik Zirbes and Dušan Ristić. Zvezda also added experienced Stratos Perperoglou and Mouhammad Faye, as well as point guard Joe Ragland. The last one to sign was combo guard Nemanja Nenadić from development team FMP. Marko Kešelj
Marko Kešelj ( sr-cyr, Марко Кешељ, born January 2, 1988) is a Serbian politician and retired professional basketball player serving as the state secretary in the Ministry of Sports since 4 November 2022. He previously served as a member of the National Assembly from 1 August 2022 until his resignation on 10 November 2022. He is also a presidency member of Crvena zvezda. He represented the Serbian national team in the international competitions. He is a 2.08 m (6'10") tall small forward. Pero Antić ( mk, Перо Антиќ, ; born July 29, 1982), is a North Macedonian basketball executive and former professional player. He currently serves as a president of the Basketball Federation of North Macedonia. Antić was a member and captain of the North Macedonian national basketball team. Ognjen Kuzmić ( sr-cyrl, Огњен Кузмић, ; born May 16, 1990) is a Serbian professional basketball player for KK Crvena zvezda, Crvena zvezda of the ABA League, Adriatic League and the EuroLeague. Charles T. Jenkins ( sr-cyrl, Чарлс Т. Џенкинс; born February 28, 1989) is an American-born naturalized Serbian professional basketball player for FMP Meridian of the ABA League. He was drafted by the Golden State Warriors in the 2011 NBA draft after finishing his four-year college career with the Hofstra Pride.
