2017–18 IIHF Continental Cup
The 2017–18 Continental Cup was the 21st edition of the IIHF Continental Cup, Europe's second-tier ice hockey club competition organised by International Ice Hockey Federation. The season started on 29 September 2017 and the final tournament was played on 12–14 January 2018. Yunost Minsk
HC Yunost-Minsk ''( Belar. Юнацтва Менск, Junactva Miеnsk)'' is a Belarusian ice hockey team that plays in the Belarusian Extraleague. They play their home games at Chizhovka-Arena, located in Minsk. Yunost is the ten-times champion of Belarus, most recently in the 2020/2021 season. They won the Belarusian league three years in a row thrice: in 2003/2004, 2004/2005, and 2005/2006; 2008/2009, 2009/2010, and 2010/2011; as well as 2018/2019, 2019/2020, and 2020/2021. They played in the Russian Supreme Hockey League during the 2012–13 season. Yunost's place in the Belarusian Extraleague was taken by its reserve team. DVTK Jegesmedvék ( en, DVTK Polar Bears) is a Hungarian ice hockey team that played in the OB I bajnokság and in the Erste Liga. The previously played in the Slovak Extraliga from 2018 until 2021. 2016–17 EIHL Season
The 2016–17 Elite Ice Hockey League season was the 14th season of the Elite Ice Hockey League. The regular season begun in early September and ended in March. Regular season champion Cardiff Devils were defeated in the playoff final by their Erhardt Conference rivals Sheffield Steelers 6–5 in double-overtime. From the 2016–17 season, the number of non British-trained players rose from 13 to 14, while the number of work-permit players remained at 11, according to a rule change first introduced in 2014. Ligue Magnus
The Ligue Magnus, currently known as Synerglace Ligue Magnus for sponsorship reasons, is the top men's division of the French ice hockey pyramid, established in 1906. The league operated under a variety of names before taking that of its championship trophy, the Magnus Cup, in 2004. The trophy was in turn named for Frenchman and IIHF founder Louis Magnus. Format 12 teams play a 44-game regular season. The schedule is fully balanced and there are no geographic conferences. Regulation wins are worth 3 points, as per international rules. The top 8 teams qualify for the Magnus Cup playoffs, with all series contested in a best-of-seven format. The remaining 4 teams play a 6-game round-robin, at the end of which the last-place team is relegated. The Magnus Cup champions qualify for the following season's Champions Hockey League. Alps Hockey League
The Alps Hockey League (AlpsHL) is a professional ice hockey league based in Central Europe. The league is made up of teams from Austria, Italy and Slovenia. The league was established as a result of a merger between Serie A and the Inter-National League. Formation The Alps Hockey League was founded in spring 2016, and is a joint venture between the Austrian Ice Hockey Association, the Federazione Italiana Sport del Ghiaccio, and the Ice Hockey Federation of Slovenia. The three national governing bodies have stated that they are keen to ensure that the league is both of a high standard, and financially viable in the long term. The Brûleurs de Loups (French for ''Wolfs Burners'') are a professional ice hockey team that play in Grenoble, France. History The club was founded in 1963 under the name Grenoble Hockey Club. Rungsted Ishockey Klub is a Danish ice hockey club from Rungsted. The elite team is called ''Rungsted Seier Capital''. History The club was founded in 1941. Nordsjælland Cobras The Nordsjælland Cobras was the elite team for Rungsted Ishockey Klub and played in the top Danish ice hockey league AL-Bank Ligaen. After filing for bankruptcy at the end of the 2009-2010 season, the team was excluded from the following season. They changed name from the Rungsted Cobras to the Nordsjælland Cobras in 2004, but they are still based in Rungsted. The team won the Danish national championship in 2003. According to the club, the shortfall is due to sponsorship money that has not been paid due and the current economic crisis has left club owners unable to cover the shortfall. Narva PSK
Narva PSK ( et, Narva Paemurru Spordikool) is an ice hockey team located in Narva, Estonia, which plays in the Coolbet Hokiliiga, the top tier of ice hockey in Estonia. They play home games at the Narva Ice Hall. History Narva PSK were founded in 2003, following the dissolution of the previous Narva-based hockey team, Narva 2000 (formerly known as Narva Kreenholm). Since their inception, Narva PSK have been a member of the Meistriliiga, and won the league twice, in both 2016 and 2017. As a result of winning the league in 2017, Narva PSK took place in the 2017–18 IIHF Continental Cup, where they were in the same group as HC Donbass of Ukraine, Polish side GKS Tychy and Latvian outfit HK Kurbads.
