2017–18 Georgia Bulldogs Basketball Team
The 2017–18 Georgia bulldogs basketball team represented the University of Georgia during the 2017–18 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The team's head coach was Mark Fox in his ninth season at UGA. They played their home games at Stegeman Coliseum as members of the Southeastern Conference. The Bulldogs finished the season 18–15, 7–11 in SEC play to finish in a tie for 11th place. As the No. 12 seed in the SEC tournament, they defeated Vanderbilt and Missouri before losing to Kentucky in the quarterfinals. On March 10, 2018, the school fired head coach Mark Fox after nine seasons at Georgia. On March 13, the school hired former Indiana coach Tom Crean to replace Fox. Mark Fox (basketball)
Mark Leslie Fox (born January 13, 1969) is a men's college basketball coach who is the head coach of the California Golden Bears of the Pac-12 Conference. He spent nine seasons (2009 to 2018) as the head coach of the Georgia Bulldogs. He was previously the head coach for the Nevada Wolf Pack, named to that position on June 1, 2004, just days after former Nevada coach Trent Johnson had resigned. Coaching career Nevada Fox was the head coach for the Nevada Wolf Pack basketball team from 2004 to 2009. While with the Wolf Pack, Fox compiled an overall record of 123–43. He also guided the Wolf Pack to five postseason appearances in five years including three NCAA tournaments. The 2016–17 Tennessee Volunteers basketball team represented the University of Tennessee in the 2016–17 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Volunteers were led by second-year head coach Rick Barnes. The team played its home games at Thompson–Boling Arena in Knoxville, Tennessee, as a member of the Southeastern Conference. Bloomfield Hills, Michigan
Bloomfield Hills is a small city (5.04 sq. miles) in Oakland County in the U.S. state of Michigan. It is a northern suburb of Metro Detroit and is approximately northwest of Downtown Detroit. Athens Christian School (ACS) is a private, non-denominational Christian school located in Athens, Georgia, United States. History In the late 1960s, the Christian school movement in America began to grow at a rapid pace. At this time, Buhl and Lois Cummings owned a Christian bookstore in Athens, Georgia. Many patrons of the bookstore talked to the Cummings about the need for an alternative to public education, since the Supreme Court had removed Bible reading and prayer from the public schools. When God was taken out of public education, the Cummings and many others saw the need to start a school in Athens that would educate students from a Biblical worldview. Nicolas Devir Claxton (born April 17, 1999) is an American professional basketball player for the Brooklyn Nets of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Rayshaun Hammonds (born November 10, 1998) is an American professional basketball player for Avtodor of the VTB United League. He played college basketball for the Georgia Bulldogs. High school career Hammonds attended Norcross High School. In the summer of 2016, he averaged 18 points, eight rebounds, and nearly two steals and two assists per game in the Nike EYBL.
