Taormina ( , , also , ; scn, Taurmina) is a ''comune'' (municipality) in the Metropolitan City of Messina, on the east coast of the island of Sicily, Italy. Lelio Lagorio
Lelio Lagorio (9 November 1925 – 6 January 2017) was an Italian politician who served as the first President of Tuscany from 1970 until 1978. Biography Lagorio was born in Trieste and was a member of the Italian Socialist Party (Partito Socialista Italiano, PSI). He was mayor of Florence from 1964 to 1965, succeeding Giorgio La Pira, and, later, the first president of the Tuscany region (1970–1978). Leonardo Benevolo (25 September 1923 – 5 January 2017) was an Italian architect, city planner and architecture historian. Tullio De Mauro
Tullio De Mauro (31 March 1932 – 5 January 2017) was an Italian linguist, a professor emeritus of general linguistics at the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Rome "La Sapienza" and an Italian politician. Biography He was the younger brother of the journalist Mauro De Mauro who was kidnapped and killed in September 1970, while investigating the Sicilian Mafia.
