2017 Volta Ao Algarve
The 2017 Volta ao Algarve was a road cycling stage race that took place in the Algarve region of Portugal between 15 and 19 February 2017. It was the 43rd edition of the Volta ao Algarve and was rated as a 2.HC event as part of the 2017 UCI Europe Tour. The race was won by Slovenian rider Primož Roglič for the team, having taken the race lead after top-three finishes in the second and third stages. Roglič maintained a 22-second lead over 's Michał Kwiatkowski from Poland for the remainder of the race, to take the biggest stage race win of his career. The podium was completed by France's Tony Gallopin riding for the team, a further 33 seconds in arrears of Kwiatkowski. Two of Gallopin's teammates were to each win one of the race's sub-classifications; Tiesj Benoot won the young rider classification, finishing in eighth place overall while André Greipel won the points classification with a stage win and a second place during the race. 2017 UCI Europe Tour
The 2017 UCI Europe Tour was the thirteenth season of the UCI Europe Tour. The 2017 season began on 26 January 2017 with the Vuelta a Mallorca, Trofeo Santanyí-Ses Salines-Campos and ended on 17 October 2017 with the Nationale Sluitingsprijs. Belgium, Belgian rider Baptiste Planckaert (), who scored 1,605 points in the 2016 UCI Europe Tour, 2016 edition, was the defending champion of the UCI Europe Tour. Nacer Bouhanni () won the overall standings for the second time in three years; won the team classification, while France won both the overall nations' title and the under-23 equivalent. Daniel John Martin (born 20 August 1986) is an Irish former professional road racing cyclist, who rode professionally between 2008 and 2021 for the , , and teams. Born and raised in England, Martin represented Ireland in competition through his Irish mother. Fóia (mountain)
With an elevation of and a topographic prominence of , Fóia is the highest mountain of Algarve, Portugal. It is part of the Serra de Monchique range and is located at within Monchique (parish), Monchique parish.
There is a Road surface, paved road right to the summit which is topped by several telecommunication facilities including the Portuguese Air Force#Fix component, Radar Station Number 1 of the Portuguese Air Force. On a clear day the Atlantic Ocean is visible.

Fernando Gaviria Rendón (born 19 August 1994) is a Colombian professional road and track racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . He is well known as a sprinter. Riding for the Colombian national cycling team, Gaviria came to international attention at the 2015 Tour de San Luis, where he beat former world champion Mark Cavendish in two sprint finishes.
