The 2017 V.League 2 (referred to as Sứ Thiên Thanh V.League 2 for sponsorship reasons) is the 23rd season of V.League 2, Vietnam's second tier professional football league. The season began on 11 February 2017 and finished on 26 July 2017. The season started with 7 clubs after the withdrawals of 3 clubs without any replaces. Vietnamese First Division
V.League 2 or Vietnamese National Football First League, ( vi, Giải Bóng đá Hạng Nhất Quốc Gia Việt Nam), also called LS V.League 2 for sponsorship reasons, is the second tier professional association football league in Vietnam controlled by the Vietnam Professional Football. V.League 2 has 12 teams competing in this season. Format Initially the V.League 2 comprised 14 clubs. Starting in the 2022 season, only 12 teams will participate in the V.League 2. Over the course of a season, clubs play a two-leg round-robin format over 22 rounds with a total of 132 matches. The club finishing at the bottom of the league table will be relegated to the Vietnam League Two while the top 2 clubs will be promoted to the V.League 1. 2016 Vietnamese National Football Second League
The 2016 Vietnamese National Football Second League was the 18th season of the Vietnamese National Football Second League. The season began on 12 April 2016 and finished on 22 July 2016. Rule changes In this season, 7 teams each group will play home & away. At the end of the qualifying round, the worst team in both two groups will be relegated to 2017 Vietnamese National Football Third League. And the top team of each group will be qualified to final round. In final round, the winner will be promoted to 2017 V.League 2. The 2017 Vietnamese National Football Third League will be the 13th season of the Vietnamese National Football Third League. The season will begin on 3 October 2017 and finish on 9 October 2017. Rule In this season, there are 8 teams divided geographically to 2 groups with 4 teams per group. The winner and runner-up of each group will promote to Second League.
