2017 UCF Knights Football Team
The 2017 UCF Knights football team represented the University of Central Florida in the 2017 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Knights played their home games at the newly renamed Spectrum Stadium in Orlando, Florida, and competed in the East Division of the American Athletic Conference. They were led by second year head coach Scott Frost. The Knights finished the regular season 12–0, the football program's first ever undefeated regular season and second 12-win season, and won the 2017 American Conference Championship. The Knights season culminated in a 2018 Peach Bowl win over Auburn. The effort came just two years after an 0–12 winless season (2015). UCF became the first team in the history of NCAA Division I FBS to improve from a winless regular season to an undefeated regular season in only two years. Scott Frost
Scott Andrew Frost (born January 4, 1975) is a former American football coach and player. He was the head football coach at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln from 2018 to 2022. Born in Lincoln, Nebraska, Frost played college football as a quarterback for the Stanford Cardinal and the Nebraska Cornhuskers, the latter of which he led to a shared national championship in 1997. He played six years in the NFL, mostly on special teams. After retiring as a player, Frost served as an assistant coach for a number of college football teams, most notably as the offensive coordinator for the Oregon Ducks from 2013 to 2015, where he helped coach Heisman trophy-winner Marcus Mariota and the 2014 Oregon Ducks to a berth in the first college football playoff, where they lost to Ohio State in the national championship game. Jordan Franks (born February 1, 1996) is a former American football tight end. He played college football at UCF Knights football, UCF. He played in the National Football League (NFL) for the Cincinnati Bengals and Cleveland Browns. Franks won Super Bowl LVII as a member of the Kansas City Chiefs in 2022. Matthew Wright (American Football)
Matthew Wright (born March 22, 1996) is an American football placekicker who is a free agent. Wright is known for breaking the Jacksonville Jaguars' 20-game losing streak, when he scored two fourth quarter field goals, including a game-winning 53 yarder in an NFL International Series game against the Miami Dolphins in London. Wright played college football at UCF where he was a member of the undefeated 2017 team that was selected as National Champions by the Colley Matrix. Jacob Harris (born April 16, 1997) is an American football wide receiver for the Jacksonville Jaguars of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at UCF. High school career Born in Palm Harbor, Florida, Harris attended and played high school football at Palm Harbor University. He did not play organized football until his senior year of high school. Gabriel Davis (born April 1, 1999) is an American football wide receiver for the Buffalo Bills of the National Football League (NFL). Adrian Killins, Jr. (born January 2, 1998) is an American football running back for the Arlington Renegades of the XFL. He played college football at UCF. Early life and high school Killins was born and grew up in Daytona Beach, Florida and attended Mainland High School, where he played football and ran track. McKenzie Milton (born October 10, 1997) is a former American football quarterback who previously played for the Florida State Seminoles of the Atlantic Coast Conference and the University of Central Florida (UCF) of the American Athletic Conference.
