2017 Tour De Wallonie
The 2017 VOO-Tour de Wallonie was a five-stage men's professional road cycling race, held in Belgium as a 2.HC race on the 2017 UCI Europe Tour. It was the forty-fourth running of the Tour de Wallonie, starting on 22 July in Stavelot and finishing on 26 July in Thuin. The race was won by Belgian rider Dylan Teuns (), winning two stages and the points classification alongside his overall success. Schedule The race route was announced on 4 May 2017. Teams Initially, 19 teams were selected to take part in Tour de Wallonie. Six of these were UCI WorldTeams, with ten UCI Professional Continental teams and three UCI Continental teams. A 20th team, Professional Continental team were later added to the race. 2017 UCI Europe Tour
The 2017 UCI Europe Tour was the thirteenth season of the UCI Europe Tour. The 2017 season began on 26 January 2017 with the Vuelta a Mallorca, Trofeo Santanyí-Ses Salines-Campos and ended on 17 October 2017 with the Nationale Sluitingsprijs. Belgium, Belgian rider Baptiste Planckaert (), who scored 1,605 points in the 2016 UCI Europe Tour, 2016 edition, was the defending champion of the UCI Europe Tour. Nacer Bouhanni () won the overall standings for the second time in three years; won the team classification, while France won both the overall nations' title and the under-23 equivalent. Race structure Throughout the season, points are awarded to the top finishers of stages within stage races and the final general classification standings of each of the stages races and one-day events. On January 1, 2006, Chaudfontaine had a total population of 21,012. The total area is 25.52 km² which gives a population density of 823 inhabitants per km². The municipality consists of the following districts: Beaufays, Chaudfontaine, Embourg, and Vaux-sous-Chèvremont. Jelle Vanendert
Jelle Vanendert (born 19 February 1985) is a Belgian former professional road racing cyclist, who last rode for UCI ProTeam . He competed in a total of ten Grand Tours during his career. His younger brother Dennis Vanendert also competed professionally with the team between 2012 and 2015. Career In 2011, Vanendert showed good form at La Flèche Wallonne, where he came sixth. He rode the Tour de France initially as the main climbing domestique for Jurgen Van den Broeck. However, when his leader crashed out of the race, Vanendert was given a free role, and on Stage 14 attacked from the group of GC contenders to win the stage. Vanendert finished 20th overall and also wore the King of the Mountains Jersey. Vanendert was the leader of in the 2012 Ardennes classics, and finished second in the Amstel Gold Race, fourth in La Flèche Wallonne and tenth in Liège–Bastogne–Liège. Jean-Pierre "Jempy" Drucker (born 3 September 1986) is a retired Luxembourgish professional racing cyclist. Career Fidea (2004–2008) Born in Sandweiler, Drucker signed with in 2004, a team specializing in cyclo-cross, at age 18.
