2017 Tour De Langkawi
The 2017 Tour de Langkawi was the 22nd edition of an annual professional road bicycle racing stage race held in Malaysia since 1996. The race was run at the highest category apart from those races which make up the UCI World Tour, and was rated by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) as a 2.HC (hors category) race as part of the 2017 UCI Asia Tour. The race was won by South African rider Ryan Gibbons for , taking the first professional wins of his career. He won the race by 33 seconds ahead of Australia's Cameron Bayly (), while the podium was completed by Italian rider Alberto Cecchin, a further two seconds behind for the squad. Teams 19 teams accepted invitations to participate in the 2017 Tour de Langkawi. 2017 UCI Asia Tour
The 2017 UCI Asia Tour was the 13th season of the UCI Asia Tour. The season began on 22 October 2016 with the Tour of Hainan and ended on 7 October 2017. The points leader, based on the cumulative results of previous races, wears the UCI Asia Tour cycling jersey. Throughout the season, points are awarded to the top finishers of stages within stage races and the final general classification standings of each of the stages races and one-day events. The quality and complexity of a race also determines how many points are awarded to the top finishers, the higher the UCI rating of a race, the more points are awarded. List Of 2017 UCI Professional Continental And Continental Teams
The Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI), the governing body of cycling, categorises teams into three divisions. The top 18 teams are the UCI WorldTeams and compete in the UCI World Tour. The second and third divisions respectively are the Professional Continental teams and the Continental teams. The teams compete in the UCI Continental Circuits, which are divided into five continental zones: Africa, America, Asia, Europe and Oceania. They also win points in the UCI World Ranking. Jakub Mareczko (born 30 April 1994) is an Italian road cyclist of Polish origin, who currently rides for UCI ProTeam . Pantai Remis is a coastal town in Manjung District, Perak, Malaysia. It is situated in between Simpang (near Taiping) and Sitiawan. History The town was founded in the late 1940s. The name is probably derived from a type of sea shell, Remis, which has a greyish shell and is easily crushed. Gerik ( Jawi: ڬريق; ; Tamil: கிரிக் ; alternate spelling: Grik) is a mukim and the district capital of Hulu Perak District, Perak, Malaysia. The town is also known as Rest Town owing to its strategic location next to East-West Highway , the main route linking Kedah, Penang and Kelantan. Scott Sunderland (born 16 March 1988) is an Australian professional racing cyclist, who last rode for UCI Continental team . Sunderland has represented Australia at the World Cup events including at Los Angeles in 2008, where he won the 1 km time trial and at Manchester in 2009.
