2017 TT Pro League
The 2017 TT Pro League season is the nineteenth season of the TT Pro League, the Trinidad and Tobago professional league for association football clubs, since its establishment in 1999. A total of ten teams are contesting the league, with Central FC the defending champions from the 2016–17 season. The league will start on 9 June and will end on 28 November with the crowning of the champion. North East Stars were crowned champions on the penultimate match day. It was their first league title since 2004. TT Pro League
The TT Pro League (formerly known as the Professional Football League) is the Trinidad and Tobago professional league for association football clubs. It is the country's primary football competition and serves as the top division in the Trinidad and Tobago football league system. Contested by ten clubs, the league is one of the world's few football leagues that does not operate on an automatic system of promotion and relegation. Seasons run from September to May, with teams playing 18 games each totaling 90 games in the season. Most games are played in the evenings of Fridays (''Super Fridays'') and Saturdays (''Fiesta Saturdays''), with a few games played during weekday evenings. Stern John, CM (born 30 October 1976) is a Trinidadian football manager and former player who is currently managing Saint Lucia. He managed Anguilla from 2020 to 2022. Dale Saunders (born 9 November 1973 on Trinidad) is a former football player and now football coach from Trinidad and Tobago. Morvant Caledonia United
Morvant Caledonia United (formerly known as Caledonia AIA) is a professional football team in Trinidad and Tobago's top-level TT Pro League. It is based in Morvant; its home stadium is Hasely Crawford Stadium. History The Caledonia AIA Football Club was founded in May 1979 by a group of schoolboys from the Morvant, Laventille, San Juan and Barataria environs; one of whom included current owner Jamaal Shabazz. The Club has a franchise in the TT Pro League and runs a full professional team; employing 28 players and 7 staff on a full-time basis. Jamaal Shabazz
Jamaal Shabazz (born 22 November 1963) is a Trinidadian football manager, who is the current head coach of the Guyana national football team. He is known for four different stints in charge of Guyana. Coup attempt Shabazz was involved in the 1990 Jamaat al Muslimeen coup attempt under the group's leader Yasin Abu Bakr in his home country, with the belief that the army would support the uprising. The group was imprisoned for two years before the courts accepted the claim that their surrender had been based on a promise of amnesty; this was subsequently overturned by the Privy Council in London but the group were not re-arrested. As a result of his involvement in the coup attempt, Shabazz has had conditions placed on his ability to travel to the United States as required for his duties as an international football manager. Reynold Carrington
Reynold Carrington is a former Trinbagonian international footballer and current football manager for Point Fortin Civic. He played as deep-lying midfield playmaker or as a sweeper. Playing career Carrington enjoyed most of his career at Trinidad and Tobago, with brief spells at the United States and Indonesia. Densill Theobald CM (born 27 June 1982) is a Trinidadian former professional footballer who played as a central midfielder and represented Trinidad and Tobago national team 99 times, scoring twice. Marcus Leric "Lobo" Jr. Joseph (born 29 April 1991) is a Trinidadian professional footballer who plays as a forward for I-League club Mohammedan and the Trinidad and Tobago national team.
