The 2017 Sun Belt conference football season began on August 31, 2017 and ended on December 2, 2017. It was part of the 2017 season of the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS), the top level of NCAA Division I football. Season This was the first season for Coastal Carolina, which was in its second and final transitional season from the Division I Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) to FBS. This was also the final season for both Idaho and New Mexico State as associate members of the conference; New Mexico State will remain in the FBS as an independent program, while Idaho will move down to the FCS level in its main conference, the Big Sky Conference. The NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS), formerly known as Division I-A, is the highest level of college football in the United States. Jeremy Reaves
Jeremy Antoine Reaves (born August 29, 1996) is an American football free safety and special teamer for the Washington Commanders of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at South Alabama, where he was named the 2017 Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Year before having a brief stint with the NFL's Philadelphia Eagles prior to joining Washington. Reaves was named to his first Pro Bowl in 2022 after spending three seasons primarily on the practice squad. Justice Hansen (born January 7, 1995) is an American football quarterback and currently free agent. He played for the Panthers Wrocław. Early years Hansen attended the Edmond Santa Fe High School in Edmond, Oklahoma. He committed to the University of Oklahoma to play college football. College career Hansen redshirted his only season at Oklahoma in 2014. In 2015, as a redshirt freshman, he transferred to Butler Community College. In his only year at Butler he played in nine games, completing 163 of 211 passes for 1,694 yards and 12 touchdowns. After the 2015 season, Hansen transferred to Arkansas State University. 2017 Notre Dame Fighting Irish Football Team
The 2017 Notre Dame Fighting Irish football team represented the University of Notre Dame in the 2017 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The team was coached by Brian Kelly and played its home games at Notre Dame Stadium in South Bend, Indiana. They competed as an independent. They finished the season 10–3, an impressive turnaround from the season before, where the Irish finished with their worst record since 2007. They were invited to the Citrus Bowl where they defeated LSU. Conference USA (C-USA or CUSA) is an intercollegiate athletic conference whose current member institutions are located within the Southern United States. The conference participates in the NCAA's Division I in all sports. C-USA's offices are located in Dallas, Texas. History C-USA was founded in 1995 by the merger of the Metro Conference and Great Midwest Conference, two Division I conferences that did not sponsor football. However, the merger did not include either Great Midwest member Dayton or Metro members VCU and Virginia Tech.
