The 2017 South Alabama Jaguars baseball team represents the University of South Alabama in the 2017 NCAA Division I baseball season. The Jaguars play their home games at Eddie Stanky Field. Mark Calvi
Mark Calvi (born November 5, 1969) is an American college baseball coach, currently serving as head coach of the South Alabama Jaguars baseball team. He was named to that position prior to the 2012 NCAA Division I baseball season, 2012 season. Playing career Calvi lettered three times in baseball as a catcher at Nova Southeastern Sharks baseball, Nova Southeastern, and signed with the Seattle Mariners after completing his college career in 1992. He played the 1992 season with the Bellingham Mariners of the Class-A Northwest League. He then served the 1993 season as a scout for the Mariners. Coaching career After ending his time as a scout, Calvi accepted a position on the staff of FIU Panthers baseball, FIU, where he would remain for 11 years. The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns baseball team is the college baseball team of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. The Ragin' Cajuns baseball team competes in NCAA Division I in the Sun Belt Conference. They play their home games on campus at M. L. Samford Stadium – Hitchcock Field At Plainsman Park
Plainsman Park, officially ''Samford Stadium – Hitchcock Field at Plainsman Park'', is the college baseball venue for the Auburn University Tigers. As of 2015, its seating capacity is 4,096. In 2003, '' Baseball America'' rated the facility the best college baseball venue in the country. The park's signature is its high left field fence, which is from home plate. The home team bullpen is located behind the left field fence, forcing media in the press box to use monitors to determine who is warming up.
