2017 Sky Blue FC Season
The 2017 Sky Blue FC season was the team's eighth season as a professional women's soccer team. Sky Blue FC plays in the National Women's Soccer League, the top tier of women's soccer in the United States. Review After a 7th-place finish in 2016, Sky Blue FC finished the 2017 season in 6th place, five points out of playoff contention. Sam Kerr scored a league-record 17 goals, won the league's Golden Boot award, and was named MVP, the first time a player on a non-playoff team had won the award. Raquel Rodriguez set the NWSL record for fastest goal scored with a 25-second strike against Portland Thorns FC on June 17. Head coach Christy Holly resigned mid-season on August 16, and was replaced by four assistant coaches, Jill Loyden, Dave Hodgson, Paul Greig, and Maria Dorris. NJ/NY Gotham FC is a professional women's soccer team based in Harrison, New Jersey. Founded in 2006 as Jersey Sky Blue, the team was known as Sky Blue FC from 2008 until 2020. A founding member of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) in 2013, Sky Blue FC also played in the Women's Professional Soccer (WPS) from 2009 to 2011. Denise Reddy
Denise Reddy (born September 14, 1970) is an American professional association football, soccer coach and former player who is currently an assistant coach for Chelsea F.C. Women, Chelsea in the FA Women's Super League. Reddy holds a UEFA Pro License and previously coached Sky Blue FC of the National Women's Soccer League. She has also served as an assistant coach to Jim Gabarra at Washington Spirit and as head coach of Linköpings FC and Vittsjö GIK in Sweden, B.93/HIK/Skjold in Denmark, and Jersey Sky Blue of the USL W-League (1995–2015), USL W-League. Sarah Killion
Sarah Killion Woldmoe (born Sarah Christine Killion; July 27, 1992) is an American former professional soccer player who played as a midfielder. Early life Born and raised in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Woldmoe attended Bishop Dwenger High School where she played on the varsity soccer team for four years. Woldmoe was named Gatorade Player of the Year for the state of Indiana three times from 2009 to 2011. Kayla Mills
Kayla Danielle Mills (born November 8, 1995) is an American soccer player who plays for GPSO 92 Issy in the Division 1 Féminine in France. Career Mills spent her college soccer career at USC where she played from 2013 to 2016. She was part of the team in 2016 that won the NCAA National Championship. Mills was drafted by Sky Blue FC with the 4th overall pick in the 2017 NWSL College Draft. She appeared in 16 games in 2017, starting 13 of them. Mills was named to Sky Blue FC's 2018 roster. Taylor Lytle
Taylor Marie Lytle (born March 31, 1989) is an American professional association football, soccer player who last played as a midfielder for Utah Royals FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL). Early life Lytle was raised in Las Cruces, New Mexico, where she attended Las Cruces High School.
