2017 SANFL Grand Final
The 2017 South Australian National Football League (SANFL) grand final was played at the Adelaide Oval on Sunday, 24 September to determine the premiers for the 2017 SANFL season. The Grand Final was contested by Port Adelaide and Sturt and was the first time the two teams played each other in the SANFL Grand Final since 1998 1998 was designated as the ''International Year of the Ocean''. Dimitri "Jimmy" Toumpas (born 2 January 1994) is a former professional Australian rules footballer best known for his time at the Melbourne Football Club where he played 27 games from 2013 to 2015. Matthew Lobbe (born 12 February 1989) is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the Carlton Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). The Sturt Football Club, nicknamed The Double Blues, is a semi-professional Australian rules football club based in the suburb of Unley, South Australia, which plays in the South Australian National Football League.
