2017 Porsche Carrera Cup Great Britain
The 2017 Porsche Carrera Cup Great Britain was a multi-event, one-make motor racing championship held across England and Scotland. The championship featured a mix of professional motor racing teams and privately funded drivers, competing in Porsche 911 GT3 cars that conformed to the technical regulations for the championship. It formed part of the extensive program of support categories built up around the BTCC centrepiece. The 2017 season was the fifteenth Porsche Carrera Cup Great Britain season, commencing on 2 April at Brands Hatch – on the circuit's Indy configuration – and finished on 1 October at the same venue, utilising the Grand Prix circuit, after fifteen races at eight meetings. 2017 British Touring Car Championship
The 2017 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship (commonly abbreviated as BTCC) was a motor racing championship for production-based touring cars held across England and Scotland. The championship featured a mix of professional motor racing teams and privately funded amateur drivers competing in highly modified versions of family cars which are sold to the general public and conform to the technical regulations for the championship. The 2017 season was the 60th British Touring Car Championship season and the seventh season for cars conforming to the Next Generation Touring Car (NGTC) technical specification. With both BMW and Vauxhall returning to the series this year as manufacturer outfits - joining the existing Honda, Subaru and MG teams, the 2017 season featured five manufacturer backed teams on the grid for the first time since the end of the popular Super Touring era of the sport. Scott Aaron Malvern (born 23 February 1989) is a British racing driver, currently competing in the British GT Championship who is best known for winning the 2011 British Formula Ford Championship, the 2012 Formula Renault BARC championship and twice being nominated for the McLaren Autosport BRDC Award.Malvern was also awarded the British Racing Drivers Club Henry Surtees Award in 2011 and the Autosport Club Driver of the Year in 2012. The Circuit des 24 Heures du Mans, also known as Circuit de la Sarthe (after the 1906 French Grand Prix triangle circuit) located in Le Mans, Sarthe, France, is a semi-permanent motorsport race course, chiefly known as the venue for the 24 Hours of Le Mans auto race. Daniel John Welch (born 17 July 1982) is a British auto racing driver. During his career he has mostly driven for his family team, Welch Motorsport. He drove in the British Touring Car Championship from 2011 to 2016. He is the son of former British rallycross driver John Welch. Alexander Martin (born 21 April 1987) is a British racing driver who competed in the British Touring Car Championship from 2015 - 2016. Racing career Martin began his career in the 2009 Porsche Carrera Cup Great Britain, he raced in the championship from 2009–2011 ending 7th in the Pro–Am 1 standings in 2011. He started his motor racing career contesting the 2004 Mini Max Kart Championship, becoming a multiple kart champion in his native Scotland over the next eight years, before moving up to car racing in 2012. Eftihios "Tio" Ellinas (born 27 January 1992 in Larnaca, Cyprus) is a Cypriot race car driver. Ellinas began racing go-karts at the age of seven, and from 2003 - 2009 won 10 kart racing championships in Cyprus, in 2005 winning the ROK Cup International Final. Dino Zamparelli (born 5 October 1992) is a British racing driver, born to English parents and with Italian ancestry. His father Mike was a F1 Powerboat World Championship racer. Career Early career Zamparelli began karting at the age of seven, and spent seven years in the various classes around the United Kingdom and Europe.
