2017 Pittsburgh Riverhounds Season
The 2017 Pittsburgh Riverhounds season was the club's eighteenth season of existence, and their seventh consecutive season in the United Soccer League, the second tier of American soccer. Pittsburgh also competed in the U.S. Open Cup. The season covered the period from September 25, 2016, to the beginning of the 2018 USL season. The Riverhounds won the Keystone Derby Cup over Harrisburg City Islanders, the second time since the cup was introduced that the Riverhounds won the trophy. After defeating Harrisburg 1–0 on April 29, Pittsburgh went to FNB Field for the last two meetings between the teams, a 0–0 draw on May 24 and a 3–0 Pittsburgh win on August 12. Pittsburgh Riverhounds
Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC is an American professional soccer team based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Founded in 1999 and beginning play in 1999, the club plays in the Eastern Conference of the USL Championship, the second tier of the American soccer pyramid. Since 2013, the Riverhounds have played their home games at the 5,000-seat Highmark Stadium, a soccer-specific stadium located in Station Square. Their current head coach is Bob Lilley. Saint Lucian international David Flavius currently holds the club records for most appearances and goals which he set over his eight seasons with the Riverhounds between 1999 and 2006. FNB Field
FNB Field is a baseball park in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, on City Island in the Susquehanna River. It is the home field of the Harrisburg Senators, the Double-A Eastern League affiliate of the Washington Nationals, and was the home stadium of Penn FC of the USL. The original structure was built in 1987 and it was called Riverside Stadium until 2004. It has a capacity of 6,187. The ballpark received a $45 million renovation that began in 2008. The Akron Zips men's soccer team is an intercollegiate varsity sports team of the University of Akron. Stephen Okai
Stephen Okai (born 27 September 1989) is a former Ghanaian footballer and current coach. Career College & Amateur Okai played four years of college soccer at the University of Mobile. Okai won the National Player of the Year award in NAIA and was a three-time All-American. During his time at college, Okai also played for USL PDL club Des Moines Menace in 2010, and Reading United A.C. in 2011 and 2012. Professional career On January 17, 2013, Okai was selected 31st overall in the 2013 MLS SuperDraft by Philadelphia Union. Kevin Kerr (born 12 January 1989) is a former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. Born in Germany, he made two appearances for the Scotland U21 national team. WakeMed Soccer Park is a major soccer complex in Cary, North Carolina, United States. It consists of a purpose-built, soccer-specific main stadium called Sahlen's Stadium at WakeMed Soccer Park, two lighted practice fields, and four additional fields.
