2017 PDC Pro Tour
The 2017 PDC Pro Tour is a current series of non-televised darts tournaments organised by the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC). Players Championships, UK Open Qualifiers and European Tour events are the events that make up the Pro Tour. This year there are 40 PDC Pro Tour events being held – 22 Players Championships, six UK Open Qualifiers and 12 European Tour events. Prize money Prize money for each European Tour event has increased from £115,000 to £135,000. The UK Open Qualifiers and Players Championship events stays the same as 2016. This is how the prize money is divided: PDC Tour Card 128 players are granted Tour Cards, which enables them to participate in all Players Championships, UK Open Qualifiers and European Tour events. PDC Pro Tour
The PDC Pro Tour is a series of non-televised darts tournaments organised by the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC). They comprise Professional Dart Players Association (PDPA) Players Championships and European Tour events. Only four players have gone on to win at least 30 titles on the PDC Pro Tour. Michael van Gerwen has won the most Pro Tour titles winning 84. Phil Taylor is second on the list winning 70 events, Peter Wright third winning 32 events and Gary Anderson in fourth winning 31 events, as of September 2022. Pro Tour Card Since 2011, the PDC Pro Tour has operated a Tour Card system. 128 players are granted Tour Cards, which enables them to participate in all Players Championships. Ritchie Edhouse
Ritchie Edhouse (born 19 April 1983) is a professional English darts player who plays in Professional Darts Corporation events. He reached the last 32 of the 2015 BDO World Trophy, and won a PDC Challenge Tour event in 2016, before gaining a PDC Tour Card in 2017. Career Edhouse reached the semi-finals of the 2018 Dutch Darts Championship, where he lost to Ricky Evans 5–7. Ronnie Baxter
Ronnie Baxter (born 5 February 1961) is an English former professional darts player who competed in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. He used the nickname "The Rocket" for his matches. Baxter was known for his fast robotic throwing action. He currently resides in his hometown Blackpool. Baxter is widely regarded as one of the best players never to have won a major TV title. He is still active on the exhibition circuit. BDO Baxter played on the North American circuit during the 1980s and when he participated in the British Darts Organisation he had a consistent record for reaching the final stages of their Open events. Jimmy Hendriks
Jimmy Hendriks (born 19 March 1994) is a Dutch darts player who competes in Professional Darts Corporation events. Career BDO He won the WDF World Youth Cup and World Youth Masters in 2011 and the Lithuania Open in 2012; 2012 proved to be a successful year for 18-year-old Hendriks who also made it to the quarter-final in the German Open, Welsh Masters and Swiss Open. He defeated the three-time BDO champion Martin Adams in the first round of the 2013 BDO World Darts Championship. Hendriks has also seen success playing in pairs tournaments, achieving 2012 victories in the Isle-of-Man Pairs (with Tony O'Shea, the England Open Pairs (with Brian Dawson) and the German Open Pairs (with Scott Mitchell). Jamie Bain (born 8 December 1989) is a former professional Scottish darts player who played in Professional Darts Corporation The Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) is a professional darts organisation in the United Kingdom, established in 1992 when a group of leading players split from the British Darts Organisation (BDO) to form what was initially called the World ... events. He first won a PDC Tour Card in 2014, and after it expired in 2016, he had to wait until 2017 to win it back. Once again, Bain lost his Tour Card at the end of its two-year spell in November 2018, but managed to finish on the top eleven of the UK Q-School Order of Merit in January 2019 to seal at least another two years on the ProTour. Paul Nicholson (darts Player)
Paul Michael Nicholson (born 10 May 1979) is an English former professional darts player who played in events of the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC). He won a major event, the 2010 Players Championship Finals, where he defeated Mervyn King in the final. He was also the runner-up to Phil Taylor in the 2011 Championship League Darts, and part of the Australia team which lost a sudden death shoot-out to England in the 2012 PDC World Cup of Darts final. Nicholson also acts as a sports commentator and TV and radio pundit. He was nicknamed "The Asset", and was known for coming on to the stage with sunglasses, and was also known for his Wrestling-style walk ons, using the song "Club Foot" as his walk on music for most of his career. Toni Alcinas
Antonio Alcinas Estelrich (born 7 April 1979) is a Spanish darts player playing in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. Career Alcinas started competing in PDC Europe events in 2010. After reaching the quarter-finals of a Players Championship in Haarlem in June 2010, he qualified for the European Championship via the PDC European Order of Merit. He was defeated 6–3 in the first round by Mark Walsh, despite hitting a 160 checkout to go 3–2 ahead. Kirk Shepherd
Kirk Shepherd (born 5 October 1986) is an English former professional darts player who competed in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) tournaments. He was the youngest player ever to reach the final of the World Professional Darts Championship in 2008. Career BDO Shepherd won the Winmau World Youth Masters in 2003, the British Teenage Singles Champion in 2004 and 2006 and was twice voted British Darts Organisation Young Player of the Year in 2005 and 2006. At the age of just 18, he reached the final of the BDO Gold Cup in 2005. Martin Schindler
Martin Schindler (born 16 August 1996) is a German professional darts player who plays in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. Career Schindler won a PDC Tour Card at Qualifying-School (Q-School) in January 2017. Stephen Brendan Lennon (born 25 November 1993) is an Irish professional darts player who plays in events of the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC). Career Lennon played county darts for Kilkenny and Kildare. Lennon has played professional darts since 2011. He first won a tournament in the Ireland Players Championship, beating Stephen Byrne 6–1 in the Final. In 2016, he made it to the Final of Finnish Masters, beating Dennis Nilsson. John Part
John Part (born June 29, 1966) is a Canadian former professional darts player and current commentator. Nicknamed Darth Maple, he is a three-times World Champion, having won the 1994 BDO World Darts Championship on his world championship debut, and the PDC World Championship in 2003 and 2008. Part is statistically North America's greatest darts player to date. He has the distinction of being the first non-UK player to win the World Championship, and the only non-European to date to win the PDC World Darts Championship. Richie Burnett
Richard Mark "Richie" Burnett (born 7 February 1967), nicknamed Prince of Wales, is a Welsh professional darts player who plays in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. He is a former World No. 1 who won the 1995 Embassy World Darts Championship. Burnett is known for coming on to "Dakota" and dancing on stage. He is also known for his fiery personality, fighting with Adrian Lewis on stage during the 2012 Players Championship Finals.
