The 2017 Open du Pays d'Aix was a professional tennis tournament played on clay courts. It was the fourth edition of the tournament which was part of the 2017 ATP Challenger Tour. Clay Court
A clay court is one of the types of tennis court on which the sport of tennis, originally known as "lawn tennis", is played. Clay courts are made of crushed stone, brick, shale, or other unbound mineral aggregate depending on the tournament. The French Open uses clay courts, the only Grand Slam tournament to do so. Clay courts are more common in Continental Europe and Latin America than in North America, Asia-Pacific or Britain. Two main types exist: red clay, the more common variety, and green clay, also known as "rubico", which is a harder surface. Although less expensive to construct than other types of tennis courts, the maintenance costs of clay are high as the surface must be rolled to preserve flatness. Axel Michon (born 16 December 1990) is a French professional tennis player. Junior career Professional career 2014 Axel lost in the second round of qualifying at the Australian Open. He made his first appearance in the main draw of a Grand Slam event at the French Open, where he received a wildcard. Mikael Ymer (born 9 September 1998) is a Swedish tennis player. He has a career high ATP singles ranking of world No. 67, achieved in March 2020. In the ATP doubles ranking his career high is No. 187, achieved in October 2017. He is currently the No. 1 Swedish player. Early life Ymer was born in Skara, Sweden to Ethiopian immigrant parents. Elliot Benchetrit (born 2 October 1998) is a Moroccan tennis player who formerly represented France. Since 1 January 2021 Benchetrit started to represent Morocco.
