2017 NAIA Division I Women's Basketball Tournament
The 2017 NAIA Division I women's basketball tournament was the tournament held by the NAIA to determine the national champion of women's college basketball among its Division I members in the United States and Canada for the 2016–17 basketball season. Oklahoma City defeated Lewis–Clark State in the championship game, 73–66, to claim the Stars' ninth NAIA national title. The tournament was played at the Rimrock Auto Arena at MetraPark in Billings, Montana. Qualification The tournament field remained fixed at thirty-two teams, which were sorted into four quadrants of eight teams each. Within each quadrant, teams were seeded sequentially from one to eight based on record and season performance. The tournament continued to utilize a simple single-elimination format. Rimrock Auto Arena At MetraPark
First Interstate Arena (colloquially known as The Metra) is a multi-purpose arena located at MetraPark, the fairgrounds of Billings, Montana. The arena has a capacity of 8,700 for ice hockey and indoor football games, 10,500 for basketball, and up to 12,000 for concerts. The arena hosts a variety of local sporting, musical, and other events. It has also hosted professional sporting competitions. In 2005, MetraPark Arena marked its 30th anniversary. The arena was renovated in 2010 and 2011 at a cost of $27 million. The Master's University is a private non-denominational Christian university in Santa Clarita, California. History The college was founded in 1927. It was originally named Los Angeles Baptist College and Seminary. In 1961, it moved to Newhall in Santa Clarita, California. Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU), known locally as the Lake, is a private Catholic university in San Antonio, Texas.
