Andy Cannizaro
Andrew Lee Cannizaro (born December 19, 1978) is a former Major League Baseball infielder who played for the New York Yankees and Tampa Bay Rays between 2006 and 2008, and a former head baseball coach for the Mississippi State Bulldogs. Playing career Cannizaro played college baseball for the Tulane Green Wave. While at Tulane, he was named to the All-Tournament Team at the 1999 Conference USA baseball tournament, which Tulane won. After the 1999 season, he played collegiate summer baseball with the Cotuit Kettleers of the Cape Cod Baseball League. He was a two time all-American at Tulane, and a four-year starter. After four seasons in college, he was drafted by the Yankees in the seventh round of the 2001 Major League Baseball Draft after two seasons at Tulane University. 2017 Kentucky Wildcats Baseball Team
The 2017 Kentucky Wildcats baseball team represented the University of Kentucky during the 2017 NCAA Division I baseball season. The Wildcats played their home games at Cliff Hagan Stadium as a member of the Southeastern Conference. They were led by head coach Nick Mingione, who was in his first year at Kentucky. Following the conclusion of the regular season, the Wildcats were selected to host their second 2017 NCAA Division I baseball tournament#Louisville Super Regional, NCAA Regional, the first since 2006. Ryan Rolison
Ryan Perry Rolison (born July 11, 1997) is an American professional baseball pitcher in the Colorado Rockies organization. He played college baseball at the University of Mississippi. Amateur career Rolison attended and graduated from the University School of Jackson in Jackson, Tennessee. As a junior, he compiled a 0.74 ERA with 104 strikeouts. As a senior, he was 9-0 in nine starts, striking out 108 in 58 innings while allowing only three runs and ten hits, earning him the title of Tennessee's DII-A Mr. Baseball. He was selected by the San Diego Padres in the 37th round of the 2016 Major League Baseball draft, but did not sign and instead enrolled at the University of Mississippi where he played college baseball. Swayze Field
Oxford-University Stadium at Swayze Field is the home of the University of Mississippi Rebels college baseball team, the 2022 NCAA National Champions, and is located in Oxford, Mississippi. It is named in honor of Tom Swayze, a former Ole Miss baseball player and coach. The $3.75 million stadium opened on February 19, 1989, with a double header sweep of Cumberland University. The actual stadium sits on city property off-campus and was built by the City of Oxford, using a 2% Local Tourism Tax on prepared food and alcohol to pay for it. The 2017 Ole Miss Rebels Baseball team represented the University of Mississippi in the 2017 NCAA Division I baseball season. The Rebels played their home games in Swayze Field. Previous season The Rebels finished the 2016 season 43–19 overall and 18–12 in the conference. The Rebels advanced to the semifinals of the SEC Tournament before suffering elimination at the hands of eventual champion Texas A&M in the semifinals. Matthew John Wallner (born December 12, 1997) is an American professional baseball outfielder for the Minnesota Twins of Major League Baseball (MLB). Born and raised in Forest Lake, Minnesota, Wallner played three years of college baseball at the University of Southern Mississippi.
