A by-election was held in the state electoral district of Manly on 8 April 2017. The by-election was triggered by the resignation of Mike Baird () after he also resigned as Premier of New South Wales. It was held on the same day as the North Shore and Gosford state by-elections. Manly is an electoral district of the Legislative Assembly in the Australian state of New South Wales, and covers a large portion of the Northern Beaches Council local government area. Created in 1927, although it has historically tended to be a -leaning seat, Manly has had a history of independent local members. Animal Justice Party (AJP) is a political party in Australia founded in 2009. The party was registered by the Australian Electoral Commission (AEC) on 3 May 2011. She first gained media attention in 2003, when she was badly injured when a car crashed into her day care centre. James Henry Griffin is an Australian politician. Griffin has served as the New South Wales Minister for Environment and Heritage in the Perrottet ministry since December 2021. He is a member of the New South Wales Legislative Assembly representing the electoral district of Manly for the Liberal Party. Griffin was elected on 8 April 2017 at the Manly state by-election held to replace the previous member, former Premier of New South Wales Mike Baird. The Division of Warringah is an Australian electoral division in the state of New South Wales. Geography Since 1984, federal electoral division boundaries in Australia have been determined at redistributions by a redistribution committee appointed by the Australian Electoral Commission.
