The 2017 Liga 3 season was the 2nd season of lower-tier and the inaugural season of the third-tier competition in Indonesia with the new name Liga 3. Persatu Tuban, winner of the 2014 Liga Nusantara are the defending champions, as the 2015 Liga Nusantara was not held and the 2016 ISC Liga Nusantara was not counted as an official league. Blitar United won the title after a 2–1 win over Persik Kendal in 2017 Liga 3 Final at Gelora Bumi Kartini Stadium, Jepara on 17 December 2017. Format National round took place in several provinces that have been determined by PT Liga Indonesia Baru with the following format: * Play-off round contains 24 teams divided into eight groups. The winner from each group advanced to the National round. * National round contains 32 teams divided into eight groups. Two teams from each group advanced to the knockout round. Liga 3 (Indonesia)
Liga 3 (English: ''League Three'') is the lowest tier in Indonesian football league system. Formed as Liga Nusantara in 2014, this league occupies the third tier and consists of 2 rounds: ''provincial qualification''—held in every provinces in Indonesia, and ''national round'', competed by provincial qualifiers (number varies between provinces). History The competition was established after Liga Indonesia Second Division and Liga Indonesia Third Division merged in 2014. Starting in 2015, the Liga Indonesia First Division was also merged with Liga Nusantara making it the third-tier level in Indonesian football system. Persatu Tuban won the competition's first season. In 2017, ''Liga Nusantara'' was renamed to ''Liga 3'', along with Indonesian Super League and Indonesian Premier Division which were renamed to Liga 1 and Liga 2, respectively. 2016 Liga Nusantara
The 2016 ISC Liga Nusantara or 2016 Indonesia Soccer Championship C season is the second edition of Liga Nusantara after the Liga Indonesia Second Division, Second Division and Liga Indonesia Third Division, Third Division merged on 2014 season. This season is managed by competition committee of Province Association for qualification round and managed by PT. GTS in national round. The competition started in May 2016. Perseden Denpasar became champion after beating PSN Ngada 2–0 in the final. Format Each Provincial Association only given one representative to the national round. 32 teams will perform in the final round, consist of 30 teams of provincial competition winners and two winning teams from play-off of the bottom four teams.
