The 2017 Kansas Jayhawks football team represented the University of Kansas in the 2017 NCAA Division I FBS football season. It was the Jayhawks 128th season. The Jayhawks were led by third-year head coach David Beaty. They played their home games at Memorial Stadium and were members of the Big 12 Conference. Head coach David Beaty received a contract extension following the Jayhawks' 2016 season keeping him under contract until the conclusion of the 2021 season. David Beaty (American Football)
David Beaty (born October 26, 1970) is an American football coach who is the wide receivers coach at Florida Atlantic University. He served as the head football coach at the University of Kansas from 2015 to 2018. Career Early years Beaty was Kansas' wide receivers coach from 2008 to 2009 and co-offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach in 2011. He also has been an assistant coach at Rice University and Texas A&M University. Before coaching college football, Beaty coached both soccer and football at the high school level for Naaman Forest High School and Garland High School, before becoming the head football coach at North Dallas High School and Irving MacArthur. Jack Trice Stadium (originally Cyclone Stadium and formerly Jack Trice Field, sometimes referred to as "the Jack") is a stadium located in Ames, Iowa, United States. Primarily used for college football, it is the home field of the Iowa State Cyclones. It is named in honor of Jack Trice, Iowa State's first African American athlete, who died of injuries sustained during a 1923 game against Minnesota.
