2017 IPSC Handgun World Shoot
The 2017 IPSC Handgun World Shoot XVIII was the 18th IPSC Handgun World Shoot held at the new National Shooting Center in Châteauroux, France during the end of August and start of September. There were 30 stages divided into 5 areas, with each area being named after and having themes from one of the 5 continents Africa, Asia, America, Australia or Europe. The Production division saw the hardest competition of the match with the largest match participation and the winner Ben Stoeger from USA finishing under half a point in front of Russian shooter Pavel Torgashov, pushing him down into second place with the very close final score of 99.98 %. Production division arguably had the toughest top ten competition, with a margin of only 3.8 % between first and ninth place. National Shooting Center (french: Centre National de Tir) (CNTS) is a shooting range in Châteauroux, France. The construction work started 31 March 2016 The 2017 IPSC Handgun World Shoot in August 2017 was the first major event to be held on the range. Hilde Nakling
Hilde Nakling (born 4. May 1982) is a Norwegian shooter who during the 2014 IPSC World Shoot claimed the title as World Champion in the Lady Standard Division. She is the daughter of Vidar Nakling, 1980 IPSC European Champion and an active shooter until 1996. Hilde visited the shooting range for the first time already three months old, and gradually got to try various small firearms. During the early years she only attended the range once or twice a year, and it was not until she took a beginners course in 2005 that she became seriously hooked. Since 2006 she has competed actively. To prepare for the 2014 World Shoot she quit her day job as a nurse at the Oslo University Hospital, and continued to work shifts as a nurse on the pediatric ward. Ashley Rheuark is a highly accomplished American sport shooter who took silver medal in the standard division lady category at the 2017 IPSC Handgun World Shoot, and silver medal in the open division lady category at the 2017 IPSC Rifle World Shoot. She is also USPSA National Champion, ranked as an IDPA Distinguished Master (the first ever female to achieve this rank), and has proven herself as a strong competitor in multigun (3-Gun) competitions. Robert Vogel (marksman)
Robert "Bob" Gordon Vogel (born 7 October 1981) is a professional marksman, competition shooter, and National/World champion. He is the only Law Enforcement Officer ever to win World and National Championships in the Practical Pistol Disciplines of IPSC and USPSA. Robert was born and raised on a farm in rural Saint Marys, Ohio where he became heavily involved in shooting, hunting and the outdoors from a very young age. After graduating high school in 2000 he went immediately into a 2-year Police Academy program. It was also at this time that he began competing in practical shooting competitions. He is also known for competing in the second season of History Channel's marksmen competition ''Top Shot''. Biography Tilley was born on May 6, 1985, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He exhibited fascination and skill with firearms from a very young age. When he was eleven years old, his father built an indoor shooting range in Raleigh, North Carolina, affording Chris the opportunity to train and immerse himself. A year later, Tilley started competing at matches hosted by the IPSC and IDPA. Tilley mentions one of his father's first employees, a former Marine named Cazz, as a significant influence in his sport shooting career.
