The 2017 Copa Argentina Final was the 133rd. and final match of the 2016–17 Copa Argentina. It was played on December 9, 2017 at the Estadio Malvinas Argentinas in Mendoza between River Plate and Atlético Tucumán. River Plate defeated Atlético Tucumán 2–1 to win their second tournament title. As champions, they qualified for 2017 Supercopa Argentina. Atlético Tucumán, as runners-up, won the right to play in the 2018 Copa Libertadores because River Plate had already qualified as Primera División runners-up. The 2016–17 Copa Argentina (officially the Copa Total Argentina 2016-17 for sponsorship reasons) was the eighth edition of the Copa Argentina, and the sixth since the relaunch of the tournament in 2011. The competition began on February 2 and ended on December 9, 2017. River Plate, the defending champions, defeated Atlético Tucumán 2–1 in the Final to win their 2nd title. Ignacio Martín Fernández (; born 12 January 1990) is an Argentine footballer who plays as a midfielder for River Plate. Club career Early career Born in Castelli, Buenos Aires Province, Fernández's first playing years were with Club Atlético y Social Dudignac. At the age of 13, he joined Gimnasia y Esgrima La Plata's youth ranks. He made his professional debut for ''El Lobo'' on 2 October 2010, in a 4–2 league defeat to Argentinos Juniors.
