2017 CS Minsk-Arena Ice Star
The 2017 CS Minsk-Arena Ice Star is a senior international figure skating competition to be held in October 2017 in Minsk, Belarus. It is part of the 2017–18 ISU Challenger Series. Medals will be awarded in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dance. ISU Challenger Series
The ISU Challenger Series is a series of international figure skating competitions. Established by the International Skating Union in the 2014–15 season, it is a group of senior-level events ranked below the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating. Each event consists of at least three disciplines out of four ( men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing), and is required to take place between August 1 and December 15. The ISU Challenger Series Synchronized Skating is a separate competition series in the discipline of synchronized skating. History The ISU Council decided to create the series at its February 2014 meeting. Eleven competitions were selected in June 2014. The Triglav Trophy dropped out by October 10, 2014, resulting in a series composed of ten events. Ice Dance
Ice dance (sometimes referred to as ice dancing) is a discipline of figure skating that historically draws from ballroom dancing. It joined the World Figure Skating Championships in 1952, and became a Winter Olympic Games medal sport in 1976. According to the International Skating Union (ISU), the governing body of figure skating, an ice dance team consists of one woman and one man. Ice dance, like pairs skating, pair skating, has its roots in the "combined skating" developed in the 19th century by skating clubs and organizations and in recreational social skating. She is the 2019 EduSport Trophy champion, the 2014 New Year's Cup champion, the 2015 Santa Claus Cup champion, a two-time Four Nationals champion (2014, 2018), and a nine-time Czech national champion (2012, 2014–2016, 2018–2022). Matyáš Bělohradský (born 7 June 2001) is a retired Czech figure skater. He is a two-time Czech national champion (2019, 2022). Personal life Matyáš Bělohradský was born on 7 June 2001 in Planá, Czech Republic. He is the younger brother of Czech figure skater Jiří Bělohradský. Jiří Bělohradský (born 20 January 1999) is a Czech competitive figure skater. He is the 2015 Merano Cup bronze medalist and two-time Czech national champion. He has qualified for the free skate at three ISU Championships. Personal life Jiří Bělohradský was born on 20 January 1999 in Mariánské Lázně, Czech Republic. Yuri Cheslavavich Hulitski ( be, Юрый Чэслававіч Гуліцкі; born 18 April 1996) is a retired Belarusian competitive ice dancer. With Anna Kublikova, he is the 2018 Open d'Andorra silver medalist and the 2019 Belarusian national champion. He has competed in the final segment at three ISU Championships.
