2017 British Academy Television Craft Awards
The 18th Annual British Academy Television Craft Awards were presented by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) on 23 April 2017. For the fifth consecutive year, Stephen Mangan was the ceremony's host. The awards were held at The Brewery, City of London, and given in recognition of technical achievements in British television of 2016. Planet Earth II led the nominations with nine. ''Murdered by My Father'' is a British drama television film written by Vinay Patel, directed by Bruce Goodison and produced by Toby Welch, and starring Adeel Akhtar and Kiran Sonia Sawar, that first aired on BBC One in March 2016. Stefan Golaszewski
Stefan Golaszewski (born November 1980) is a British writer, performer and director. He is part of the comedy troupe Cowards and is the writer and creator of BAFTA winning sitcoms ''Him & Her'' and '' Mum''. Early life and education Golaszewski was born in November 1980. His paternal grandfather, who was Polish, emigrated to the UK at the end of World War II. Golaszewski was president of the Footlights while studying at the University of Cambridge. Career In 2009, Golaszewski wrote, performed in and co-directed a pilot for BBC Three called ''Things Talk''. Peter Beard
Peter Hill Beard (January 22, 1938 – March 31 / April 19, 2020) was an American artist, photographer, diarist, and writer who lived and worked in New York City, Montauk and Kenya. His photographs of Africa, African animals and the journals that often integrated his photographs, have been widely shown and published since the 1960s. Early life and education Peter Beard was born in 1938 in New York, the son of Roseanne (Hoare) and Anson McCook Beard Jr., heir to a railroad fortune. He was raised in New York City, Alabama, and Islip, Long Island. Beard began keeping diaries as a young boy and making photographs, as an extension of the diaries, at the age of 12. Daniel Gordon (film Director)
Daniel Gordon is a British documentary film director known for his documentaries on sports and North Korea. Gordon previously worked for Sky Sports and Chrysalis. He founded VeryMuchSo productions in January 2001, based in Sheffield. He wrote two books on Sheffield Wednesday FC. In December 2001, he was nominated for a BAFTA for producing and directing '' Darren Gough’s Cricket Academy''. In 2002, Gordon worked with Nicholas Bonner of Koryo Tours to bring the seven surviving members of the 1966 North Korea national football team to Britain. James Bluemel
James Bluemel is a television documentary filmmaker. Career The first programme he directed was the three-part documentary ''The Romanians are Coming'', screened on Channel 4 between 17 February and 3 March 2015. Bluemel visited Baia Mare, a town in north Romania and was shocked to see the living conditions of the Roma community there. The documentary focuses on Sandhu, a member of this community, who decides to come to the United Kingdom. The documentary also follows Mihaila a middle-aged nurse, who comes from more comfortable circumstances in Constantia on the Black Sea coast. Other people featured are Stefan, who works as a human statue whilst raising money for his daughter's operation and Adi, who sleeps rough so he can send more money back to his wife in Romania.
