2017 Big South Conference Men's Basketball Tournament
The 2017 Big South men's basketball tournament was the conference tournament for the Big South Conference. It was played between February 28, 2017 and March 5, 2017 at various campus sites. Winthrop defeated Campbell, 76–59, to win the tournament championship and receive the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament. Sites The first round was played at campus sites at the home of the higher seed. The quarterfinals and semifinals were played at No. 1-seeded Winthrop's Winthrop Coliseum in Rock Hill, South Carolina. The championship game was held at the home of the highest remaining seed, Winthrop's Winthrop Coliseum. Seeds All 10 conference teams were eligible for the tournament. The top six teams receive a first round bye. Teams were seeded by record within the conference, with a tiebreaker system to seed teams with identical conference records. Winthrop Coliseum
Winthrop Coliseum is a 6,100-seat multi-purpose arena in Rock Hill, South Carolina. It was built in 1982 and is home to the Winthrop University Eagles basketball and volleyball teams. The facility accommodates conventions, trade shows, concerts, special events, and other sporting tournaments. In 2015, a Democratic presidential candidate forum featuring Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders, and Martin O'Malley was scheduled to take place at the coliseum but was later moved to an alternative location on Winthrop University's campus. The 2016–17 Radford Highlanders men's basketball team represented Radford University during the 2016–17 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Highlanders, led by sixth year head coach Mike Jones, played their home games at the Dedmon Center in Radford, Virginia as members of the Big South Conference. They finished the season 14–18, 8–10 in Big South play to finish in a sixth place. Big South Conference Men's Basketball Tournament
The Big South Conference men's basketball tournament (popularly known as the Big South tournament) is the conference championship tournament in basketball for the Big South Conference. The tournament has been held every year since 1986. It is a single-elimination tournament and seeding is based on regular season records. The winner, declared conference champion, receives the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA men's basketball tournament. However, the conference did not have an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament from 1986 to 1990, and in 1995. Before the 1994-95 season, Campbell departed the Big South due to scheduling conflicts. This left the conference with just five teams having played at the Division I level for at least five years, short of the six such members required by the NCAA for a conference to receive an automatic bid into the NCAA tournament. 16-17 is a band from Basel, Switzerland. Their music combines punk rock, hardcore punk, jazz and industrial music. Biography 16-17 was founded in 1983 by Alex Buess, Knut Remond and Markus Kneubühler. When the group played its first concerts in 1983 it was received with controversial reactions: there where hardly any groups that played in an approximately similar style. Only some years later around 1986 groups like Painkiller, Last Exit or The Flying Luttenbachers appeared .
