2017 Baltimore Orioles Season
The 2017 Baltimore Orioles season was the 117th season in Baltimore Orioles franchise history, the 64th in Baltimore, and the 26th at Oriole Park at Camden Yards. Despite a modest 22–10 start to the season, they failed to improve from their 89–73 record from 2016. They were eliminated from playoff contention on September 23 with their loss to the Tampa Bay Rays, behind the Minnesota Twins for the 2nd AL Wild Card spot. With their 82nd loss, also on September 23, they ensured a sub-.500 record for the second time under manager Buck Showalter. They finished the season , their first losing season since 2011. American League East
The American League East is one of Major League Baseball's six divisions. MLB consists of an East, Central, and West division for each of its two 15-team leagues, the American League (AL) and National League (NL). This division was created before the start of the season along with the American League West division. Before that time, each league consisted of 10 teams without any divisions. Logan Verrett
Scott Logan Verrett (born June 19, 1990) is an American professional baseball pitcher who is a free agent. He made his Major League Baseball (MLB) debut with the Texas Rangers in 2015 and has also played for the New York Mets and Baltimore Orioles. Prior to playing professionally, he played for Calallen High School and Baylor University. Amateur career Verrett spent his early years in The Woodlands, Texas, where he played Little League Baseball as an infielder. Before he began high school, his family moved to Corpus Christi, and he played for Calallen High School's varsity baseball team as a pitcher. Jedidiah Custer Bradley (born June 12, 1990) is an American former Major League Baseball pitcher who played for the Atlanta Braves in 2016. Career Amateur Bradley graduated from Huntsville High School in Huntsville, Alabama. He had an appendectomy that year, and played in only six games for his school's baseball team. He attended the Georgia Institute of Technology, where he played for the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets baseball team. Joseph Mark Rickard (born May 21, 1991) is an American professional baseball outfielder who is currently a free agent. Prior to his professional career, he played college baseball for the Arizona Wildcats of the University of Arizona, and was a member of the 2012 College World Series champions. Nolan Gallagher Reimold (born October 12, 1983) is an American former professional baseball outfielder and designated hitter. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Baltimore Orioles, Toronto Blue Jays, and Arizona Diamondbacks. Early life Reimold was born to John and Mary Reimold on October 12, 1983, in Greenville, Pennsylvania. He attended Kennedy Catholic High School in Hermitage, Pennsylvania. Brian Matthew Duensing (born February 22, 1983) is an American former professional baseball pitcher. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Minnesota Twins, Baltimore Orioles, and Chicago Cubs. Amateur career High school Duensing went to Millard South High School in Omaha, Nebraska, where he earned second-team All-State honors in both his junior and senior years.
