2017 BET Hip Hop Awards
The 2017 BET Hip Hop Awards are a recognition ceremony held October 6 at the Fillmore Miami Beach at Jackie Gleason Theater in Miami Beach, Florida, and aired October 10 on the BET cable channel. The nominations were announced on September 15, 2017. Kendrick Lamar, DJ Khaled, and Cardi B led the BET Hip-Hop Awards 2017 with nine nominations apiece. Kendrick and Cardi B tied for MVP of the Year, Single of the Year, Hustler of the Year, and Best Hip-Hop Video. Meanwhile, Khaled was out for the crown in the DJ of the Year, Best Hip-Hop Video, and Producer of the Year categories. JAY-Z and Chance the Rapper were tied for the second-most nominations with five nods each. Both were nominated in categories like Lyricist of the Year, MVP of the Year, and Impact Track. Demond Price (born February 16, 1982), known professionally as Conway the Machine (or simply Conway), is an American rapper. Alvin Lamar Worthy (born July 27, 1982), known professionally as Westside Gunn, is an American rapper. He is a co-founder of independent hip-hop label Griselda Records. He is the brother of rapper Conway The Machine and cousin of rapper Benny the Butcher, both of whom he frequently collaborates with. Griselda Records
Griselda Records is an American hip hop independent record label based in Buffalo, New York. It was founded by rapper Westside Gunn, his brother Conway the Machine, and Mach-Hommy in 2012. In addition to the founding members, Benny the Butcher and in-house producer Daringer make up the flagship artists of the Griselda Records roster.
