2017 ATP Shenzhen Open
The 2017 ATP Shenzhen Open was a professional men's tennis tournament played on hard courts. It was the 4th edition of the tournament, and part of the ATP World Tour 250 series of the 2017 ATP World Tour. It took place at the Shenzhen Longgang Tennis Centre in Shenzhen, China from September 25 to October 1. Dudi Sela, Israel's # 1 player quit his quarterfinal match in the third set of the 2017 Shenzhen Open so he could begin observing Yom Kippur—the holiest day of the Jewish year—by the time the sun set, forfeiting a possible $34,000 in prize money and 90 rankings points. He had asked the tournament organizers to have his match be moved forward to be completed before sunset to accommodate his religion, but they denied his request. ATP World Tour 250 Series
The ATP 250 tournaments (previously known as the ''ATP World Tour 250'' tournaments, ''ATP International Series'', and ''ATP World Series'') are the lowest tier of annual men's tennis tournaments on the main ATP Tour, after the four Grand Slam (tennis), Grand Slam tournaments, ATP Finals, ATP Tour Masters 1000, ATP Masters 1000 tournaments, and ATP 500 tournaments. João Sousa
João Pedro Coelho Marinho de Sousa (born 30 March 1989), known as João Sousa (), is a Portuguese professional tennis player. He achieved a career-high ATP singles ranking of No. 28 on 16 May 2016 and a doubles ranking of No. 26 on 13 May 2019. Chung Hyeon (; ; born 19 May 1996) is a South Korean professional tennis player. He is the 2017 Next Gen Finals champion. As an unseeded player, he became the first Korean player to reach a Grand Slam semifinal at the 2018 Australian Open.
