2016–17 Xavier Musketeers Men's Basketball Team
The 2016–17 Xavier Musketeers men's basketball team represented Xavier University during the 2016–17 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. Led by eighth-year head coach Chris Mack, they played their games at the Cintas Center in Norwood, Ohio and were fourth-year members of the Big East Conference. They finished the season 24–14, 9–9 in Big East play to finish in seventh place. In the Big East tournament, they defeated DePaul and Butler before losing to Creighton in the semifinals. Chris Mack (basketball)
Christopher Lee Mack (born December 30, 1969) is an American college basketball coach and the former head coach at the University of Louisville and Xavier University. Background Chris Mack was born in Cleveland, Ohio and grew up in North College Hill, Ohio, a suburb of Cincinnati. He graduated in 1988 from St. Xavier High School in Cincinnati, where he was named 1987–88 ''Cincinnati Post'' Metro Player of the Year. Mack continued on to the University of Evansville, where he played basketball for two seasons. He then transferred to Xavier University in 1990, where he played his final two seasons of eligibility (after redshirting one for transfer rules), and graduated in 1992 with a B.A. in Communication Arts. The 2016–17 Gonzaga Bulldogs men's basketball team represented Gonzaga University in the 2016–17 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. Jalen Reynolds
Jalen Reynolds (born December 30, 1992) is an American professional basketball player for UNICS Kazan of the VTB United League. He played college basketball for Xavier University before playing professionally in Italy, Spain, Russia, China and Israel. College career Reynolds enrolled at Xavier University in 2012, after graduating from Brewster Academy. After being ruled ineligible, he sat out the 2012-13 season. He was suspended indefinitely by Xavier in January 2014. Statistically, his best year was in 2014-15, his sophomore season, when Reynolds averaged 9.9 points and 6.1 rebounds a contest. The Vanderbilt Commodores men's basketball team represents Vanderbilt University in the Southeastern Conference (SEC). The Commodores have won three SEC regular-season titles (1965, 1974 and 1993) and two SEC Tournament championships ( 1951 and 2012). Trevon Bluiett
Trevon Nykee Bluiett (; born November 5, 1994) is an American professional basketball player for MKS Dąbrowa Górnicza of the Polish Basketball League. He played college basketball for the Xavier Musketeers. High school career Bluiett attended Park Tudor School. At the school, Bluiett won three IHSAA state titles. Bluiett won two of his three state IHSAA titles with LA Clippers point guard Yogi Ferrell. He won his last state title with 2017 McDonald's All-American Game nominee Jaren Jackson Jr., son of NBA champion Jaren Jackson.
