2016–17 Wake Forest Demon Deacons Men's Basketball Team
The 2016–17 Wake Forest Demon Deacons men's basketball team represented Wake Forest University during the 2016–17 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Demon Deacons were led by third-year head coach Danny Manning. The team played their home games at the Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Winston-Salem, North Carolina as a member of the Atlantic Coast Conference. They finished the season 19–14, 9–9 in ACC play to finish in tenth place. They defeated Boston College in the first round of the ACC tournament to advance to the second round where they lost to Virginia Tech. Danny Manning
Daniel Ricardo Manning (born May 17, 1966) is an American college basketball coach and former professional player who is the Associate Head Mens Basketball Coach at the University of Louisville. Manning played high school basketball at Walter Hines Page High School in Greensboro, North Carolina, as well as Lawrence High School in Lawrence, Kansas. He played college basketball for the Kansas Jayhawks, and played in the National Basketball Association (NBA) for 14 years. After retiring from professional basketball Manning became an assistant coach at his alma mater, the University of Kansas. He won the national championship with the Jayhawks in 1988 as a player, and again as an assistant in 2008. He is the all-time leading scorer in Kansas basketball history with 2,951 points. The 2015–16 NC State Wolfpack men's basketball team represented North Carolina State University during the 2015–16 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The East Carolina Pirates men's basketball team represents East Carolina University in NCAA Division I college basketball and competes in the American Athletic Conference. The Pirates are coached by Mike Schwartz. History Basketball became the first intercollegiate sport at East Carolina, beginning with the 1931–1932 season. Marshall Thundering Herd Men's Basketball
The Marshall Thundering Herd men's basketball team represents Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia. They compete in the NCAA Division I as a member of the Sun Belt Conference. Marshall has advanced to the NCAA tournament five times through the years (their 1987 appearance having been vacated), most recently in 2018. Devin Robert Thomas (born May 17, 1994) is an American professional basketball player for the Ostioneros de Guaymas of the CIBACOPA. He played college basketball for Wake Forest University before playing professionally in Turkey, Spain, Israel, Greece, Argentina and Estonia. The Seton Hall Pirates men's basketball program is the NCAA Division I intercollegiate men's basketball program of Seton Hall University in South Orange, New Jersey.
