The 2016–17 season was Stevenage's third consecutive season in League Two and their 41st year in existence. Along with competing in League Two, the club also participated in the FA Cup, League Cup and Football League Trophy. The season covers the period from 1 July 2015 to 30 June 2016. Stevenage ( ) is a large town and borough in Hertfordshire, England, about north of London. Stevenage is east of junctions 7 and 8 of the A1(M), between Letchworth Garden City to the north and Welwyn Garden City to the south. In 1946, Stevenage was designated the United Kingdom's first New Town under the New Towns Act. Etymology "Stevenage" may derive from Old English ''stiþen āc'' / ''stiðen āc'' / ''stithen ac'' (various Old English dialects cited here) meaning "(place at) the stiff oak". Jack Andrew King (born 20 August 1985) is a retired English professional Association football, footballer who played as a Defender (association football), defender and midfielder. After spells in the youth academies at Oxford United F.C., Oxford United and Swansea City A.F.C. Under-23s#Academy, Swansea City respectively, King played for local club Didcot Town F.C., Didcot Town in 2004. He subsequently joined Brackley Town F.C., Brackley Town in August 2004, before returning to Didcot a year later. Altrincham F
Altrincham ( , locally ) is a market town in Trafford, Greater Manchester, England, south of the River Mersey. It is southwest of Manchester city centre, southwest of Sale and east of Warrington. At the 2011 Census, it had a population of 52,419. Callum Preston
Callum Preston (born 7 November 1995) is a footballer who plays as a goalkeeper. He turned professional with Birmingham City, and had loan spells with Worcester City and AFC Telford United, but was released in 2015 without appearing for his parent club. He spent the next season with Crawley Town of League Two, for whom he made ten first-team appearances, and had a brief spell with National League North club Altrincham in August 2016. Although born in Stafford, in England, Preston has represented Wales at under-19 level. Kgosietsile "Kgosi" Ntlhe (, ; born 21 February 1994) is a South African professional soccer player who last played as a defender for English National League club Scunthorpe United. Club career Born in Pretoria, Ntlhe joined Peterborough United in 2009 from Southside United and signed a two-year apprenticeship in the summer of 2010. He signed his first professional contract for the club in February 2011. In October 2011, Ntlhe joined Southern Premier side St Albans City on a one-month loan deal. Joel Joshua Frederick Melvin "Jobi" McAnuff (born 9 November 1981) is a former footballer. He was predominantly a winger but he has also played as an occasional central midfielder. Since his retirement he has worked as a Pundit. He began his career at Wimbledon, making over 100 appearances for the club before brief spells at West Ham United and Cardiff City. McAnuff joined Crystal Palace in 2005, spending two years there before moving again, this time to Watford before joining Reading in 2009.
