2016–17 Slovenian PrvaLiga
The 2016–17 Slovenian PrvaLiga (also known as the Prva liga Telekom Slovenije for sponsorship reasons) was the 26th edition of the Slovenian PrvaLiga since its establishment in 1991. The season began on 16 July 2016 and ended on 27 May 2017. The official fixture schedule was released on 24 June 2016. Competition format Each team played 36 matches (18 home and 18 away). The Slovenian PrvaLiga ( sl, Prva slovenska nogometna liga, ), currently named Prva liga Telemach due to sponsorship reasons, also known by the abbreviation 1. SNL, is the top level of the Football in Slovenia, Slovenian football league system. Contested by ten clubs, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the Slovenian Second League (2. SNL). Seasons typically run from July to May with each team playing 36 matches. The competition was founded in 1991 after Slovenia became an independent country. NK Celje
Nogometni klub Celje ( en, Celje Football Club), commonly referred to as NK Celje or simply Celje (), is an association football club from Celje, Slovenia. They play in the Slovenian PrvaLiga. Together with Maribor, they are the only club that have participated in every season of the Slovenian PrvaLiga since its formation in 1991. Celje won their first league title in the 2019–20 season. They have also won the 2004–05 edition of the Slovenian Cup. History The club was formed in 1919 as ''SK Celje''. Domžale Sports Park
Domžale Sports Park ( sl, Športni park Domžale) or Domžale Stadium ( sl, Stadion Domžale) is a multi-purpose stadium located in Domžale, Slovenia. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home ground of NK Domžale. The stadium, which was built in 1948, currently holds 3,100 spectators. It was renovated and modernized in 1997 and 1999. Work on the new West Stand started in October 2003 and was finished in April 2004. In June 2006, the stadium received floodlights, mounted on four concrete towers and placed at each corner of the stadium. Kidričevo () is a town near Ptuj in northeastern Slovenia. It is the seat of the Municipality of Kidričevo. The area is part of the traditional region of Styria. The municipality is now included in the Drava Statistical Region. The town is industrialized and best known for the Talum aluminum-smelting factory. Nogometni klub Zavrč or simply NK Zavrč was a Slovenian football club from Zavrč. The club was founded in 1969, but ceased operations in 2016 due to financial difficulties.
