The 2016–17 Portland Trail Blazers season was the franchise's 47th season in the National Basketball Association (NBA). The Blazers would finish the regular season with a 41–41 record, securing the 8th seed. In the playoffs, they faced against the 1st seeded and eventual NBA champion Golden State Warriors in the First Round, in which they were swept in four games. Draft picks The Trail Blazers received the 47th pick of the 2016 NBA draft from the Orlando Magic in exchange for $1.2 million and a 2019 second-round pick. Terry Stotts
Terry Linn Stotts (born November 25, 1957) is an American professional basketball coach and former player. He most recently served as head coach of the Portland Trail Blazers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). After a playing as a forward in Europe and the Continental Basketball Association (CBA), where he was coached by George Karl, Stotts became a part of Karl's coaching staff on multiple teams in the CBA and NBA. He later got opportunities as a head coach for the Atlanta Hawks and Milwaukee Bucks, before helping the Dallas Mavericks win the 2011 NBA championship as an assistant coach. Mason Alexander Plumlee (born March 5, 1990) is an American professional basketball player for the Charlotte Hornets of the National Basketball Association (NBA).
