2016–17 Pacific Tigers Men's Basketball Team
The 2016–17 Pacific Tigers men's basketball team represented the University of the Pacific (United States), University of the Pacific during the 2016–17 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. They played their home games at the Alex G. Spanos Center as members of the West Coast Conference. The Tigers were led by first-year head coach Damon Stoudamire. They finished the season 11–22, 4–14 in WCC play to finish in ninth place. They defeated 2016–17 Pepperdine Waves men's basketball team, Pepperdine in the first round of the 2017 West Coast Conference men's basketball tournament, WCC tournament to advance to the quarterfinals where they lost to 2016–17 Gonzaga Bulldogs men's basketball team, Gonzaga. Previous season The Tigers finished the season 8–20, 6–12 in WCC play to finish in a three way tie for seventh place. Damon Stoudamire
Damon Lamon Stoudamire (born September 3, 1973) is an American professional basketball coach and former player who is currently an assistant coach for the Boston Celtics of the National Basketball Association (NBA) The , point guard was selected with the 7th overall pick by the Toronto Raptors in the 1995 NBA draft and won the 1995–96 NBA Rookie of the Year Award. He played collegiately at the University of Arizona, and professionally for the Toronto Raptors, Portland Trail Blazers, Memphis Grizzlies and San Antonio Spurs.
