The 2016–17 Midland Football League season was the third in the history of the Midland Football League, a football competition in England. Premier Division The Premier Division featured 18 clubs which competed in the previous season, along with four new clubs: * Coventry United, promoted from Division One * Shawbury United, promoted from the West Midlands (Regional) League * St Andrews, promoted from the East Midlands Counties League * Tividale, relegated from the Northern Premier League League table Promotion criteria To be promoted at the end of the season a team must: # Have applied to be considered for promotion by the end of November # Pass a ground grading examination by the end of March # Finish the season in a position higher than that of any other team also achieving criteria 1 and 2 # Finish the season in one of the top three positions The following six teams achieved criterion one: * Alvechurch * Coleshill Town * Coventry United * Heanor Town * Sporting Khal ...

The Midland Football League is an English football league that was founded in 2014 by the merger of the former Midland Alliance and Midland Combination. The league has four divisions that sit at levels 9–12 of the football pyramid. History The league was formed in 2014 following the merger of the Midland Alliance and Midland Combination. Successful Premier Division clubs can win promotion to the 8th level of the English football league system, while the competition also has a number of feeder leagues at level 11, which provide new member clubs each year. The 2017–18 West Midlands (Regional) League season was the 118th in the history of the West Midlands (Regional) League, an English association football competition for semi-professional and amateur teams based in the West Midlands county, Shropshire, Herefordshire, Worcestershire and southern Staffordshire. The league operates three divisions: the Premier Division, see below, at level 10 in the English football league system, Division One at level 11, and Division Two. The 2017–18 season was the 50th season of the Northern Premier League Premier Division, and the eleventh and last season of the Division One North and South. Stourport-on-Severn, often shortened to Stourport, is a town and civil parishes in England, civil parish in the Wyre Forest (district), Wyre Forest District of North Worcestershire, England, a few miles to the south of Kidderminster and downstream on the River Severn from Bewdley.
