2016–17 Formula 4 South East Asia Championship
The 2016–17 Formula 4 South East Asia Championship season was the inaugural season of the Formula 4 South East Asia Championship. It began on 5 August at the Sepang International Circuit and finished on 22 January 2017 at the same venue, after 36 races held across six rounds. The championship was won by Presley Martono. Drivers Race calendar and results An updated race calendar was released on 1 June 2016, which cancelled the round at Kuala Lumpur City Grand Prix. After the previously scheduled second round in support of the Sepang 1000 km was cancelled, a new revised calendar was released by Formula 4 SEA through their Facebook website, which expanded the calendar to 36 races to be held until January 2017 and added rounds in both the Philippines and Indonesia. Formula 4 South East Asia Championship
The Formula 4 South East Asia Championship was a formula racing series run to FIA Formula 4 regulations. The inaugural season was held over 2016 and 2017 and the last one was held in 2019. History Gerhard Berger and the FIA Singleseater Commission launched Formula 4 in March 2013. The goal of the Formula 4 was to make the ladder to Formula 1 more transparent. Besides sporting and technical regulations, costs are also regulated. A car to compete in this category may not exceed €30,000 and a single season in Formula 4 may not exceed €100,000. 2016 Intercontinental GT Challenge
The 2016 Intercontinental GT Challenge was the first season of the Intercontinental GT Challenge. The season featured three rounds — after the cancellation of the 6 Hours of the Americas - starting with Liqui Moly Bathurst 12 Hour on 7 February and the season concluded with the Sepang 12 Hours on 10 December. Calendar On 29 January it was announced that the 6 Hours of the Americas would be cancelled with the official reason a lack of entrants. The test days of the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup were only four days after the event, so the European teams would be cutting it close for both events. Instead, the organizers postponed the race for a year, but there were no plans to run the race. Some racing series, like Formula One, Formula 2 and Formula E award championship points for a driver or team that set the fastest lap. The 2016–17 Asian Le Mans Series was the fifth season of the Automobile Club de l'Ouest's Asian Le Mans Series.
