Cypriot Second Division
The Cypriot Second Division ( el, Πρωτάθλημα Β΄ Κατηγορίας) is the second highest football division of the Cypriot football league system. Administrated by the Cyprus Football Association, it is contested by 16 teams, with the top two teams being promoted to the Cypriot First Division and the last four teams being relegated to the Cypriot Third Division. History The Cypriot Second Division started unofficially the 1934–35 football season as the second level of the Cypriot football (Cyprus Football Association founded in 1934). The competition consisted of teams that didn't participate in Cypriot First Division and the reserve teams of the Cypriot First Division clubs. In the reserve teams were allowed to participate only players that had no more than three caps with their team in First Division. Karmiotissa Polemidion FC ( el, Καρμιώτισσα Πολεμιδιών, ''Karmiotissa Polemidion'') is a Cypriot football club based in Pano Polemidia, Limassol. As of 2016 the team competed in the First Division for one season, where it played for the first time in its history, but was relegated. The club colors are red and white. The home ground of the football team is the Community Stadium of Pano Polemidia. History Karmiotissa was founded in 1979 and played mostly in the championships of STOK. The club has appeared 2 times in national divisions in 1986–87 and 2009–10 and two times in the Fourth Division. ''Oroklini-Troulloi FC 2020'' ( el, Ορόκλινη-Τρούλλοι FC 2020) is a Cypriot football club which is based in the village of Troulloi in Larnaca district. The club was founded in 1952 as Digenis Oroklinis. In the 2014–2015 season the team competed in the Cypriot Second Division for the first time in its history. History Digenis was founded in 1952 under the name Athletic Club Omonia Oroklinis. In 1983 the general meeting of the association decided to rename to Digenis. The club's emblem contained the date 1983 when the name changed. The team's colours are white, blue and green. Elpida Xylofagou is a Cypriot football club based in the village of Xylofagou in Larnaca district. The club, which was established in 1959, currently competes in the Cypriot Second Division, after a successful campaign in the Cypriot Third Division, from which it gains the promotion. Their colors are white and blue. In recent years, the team has also regularly participated in the Cypriot Cup. Stadium The team uses the Michalonikion Stadion, as a home stadium. The 2016–17 Cypriot Third Division was the 46th season of the Cypriot third-level football league. P.O. Xylotymbous won their 1st title. Format Sixteen teams participated in the 2016–17 Cypriot Third Division. All teams played against each other twice, once at their home and once away. The team with the most points at the end of the season crowned champions. The first three teams were promoted to the 2016–17 Cypriot Second Division and the last three teams were relegated to the 2016–17 STOK Elite Division. However, after the end of the season Nikos & Sokratis Erimis withdrew from the 2016–17 Cypriot Third Division, and so the 14th-placed team remained to Third Division. Enosis Neon Paralimni Football Club ( el, Ένωση Νέων Παραλιμνίου, ''Enosi Neon Paralimniou'', "Youth Union of Paralimni"), commonly referred to as ENP, is a Cypriot football team from Paralimni. Currently playing in the first division, it holds home games at the Paralimni Municipal Stadium "Tasos Marcou", which holds 5,800 people. History Enosis Neon Paralimniou was founded in April 1944, following the merger of two Paralimni clubs, Heracles and People's Love.
