The 2016–17 Coppa Italia, also known as TIM Cup for sponsorship reasons, was the 70th edition of the national cup in Italian football. Juventus successfully defended its title by defeating Lazio 2–0 in the final, becoming the first team to win the trophy in three consecutive years. Giorgio Chiellini (; born 14 August 1984) is an Italian professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for Major League Soccer club Los Angeles FC. Considered one of the best defenders of his generation, Chiellini is known for his strength, aggressiveness and man-marking, as well as his ability to play in either a three or four-man defence. Spezia Calcio was founded in 1906 by the Swiss banker Hermann Hurni (or Hurny in some documents), who played for the early Crystal Palace amateur teams in London during his time there as a student.
