2016–17 Columbia Lions Men's Basketball Team
The 2016–17 Columbia Lions men's basketball team represented Columbia University during the 2016–17 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Lions, led by first-year head coach Jim Engles, played their home games at Levien Gymnasium in New York City and were members of the Ivy League. They finished the season 11–16, 5–9 in Ivy League play to finish in fifth place. They failed to qualify for the inaugural Ivy League tournament. Previous season The Lions finished the 2015–16 season 25–10, 10–4 in Ivy League play to finish in third place. They were invited to the CollegeInsider.com Tournament where they defeated Norfolk State, Ball State, NJIT and UC Irvine to become CIT champions. Jim Engles
Jim Engles (born August 18, 1968) is an American college basketball coach and current coach of the Columbia Lions men's basketball team. He is the former head men's basketball coach at the New Jersey Institute of Technology {{Infobox university , name = {{nowrap, New Jersey Institute of Technology , image = New Jersey IT seal.svg , image_upright = 0.9 , former_names = Newark College of Engineering (1930–1975)Ne ... California Golden Bears Men's Basketball
The California Golden Bears men's basketball team is the college basketball team of the University of California, Berkeley. The program has seen success throughout the years, culminating in a national championship in 1959 under coach Pete Newell, and the team has reached the final four two other times, in 1946 and 1960. The current head coach is Mark Fox (basketball), Mark Fox, who began his tenure at Cal in 2019. Queen's Grant High School
Queen's Grant High School is a charter school in Matthews, North Carolina. The campus is on 32 acres, formerly Idlewild Country Club. It is an extension of Queen's Grant Community School, an NHA charter that offers grades K-8. History Queen's Grant was formed in 2006, and opened in 2007 with ninth and tenth grades. The school rented space until 2009, when it first assembled modular units to accommodate over 400 students. Matthews is a town in southeastern Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, United States. It is a suburb of Charlotte. The population was 27,198 according to the 2010 Census. History In the early 19th century, the new settlement that would become Matthews was unofficially named Stumptown for the copious amount of tree stumps left from making way for cotton farms.
