Webcomics
Webcomics (also known as online comics or Internet comics) are comics published on a website or mobile app. While many are published exclusively on the web, others are also published in magazines, newspapers, or comic books. Webcomics can be compared to self-published print comics in that anyone with an Internet connection can publish their own webcomic. Readership levels vary widely; many are read only by the creator's immediate friends and family, while some of the largest claim audiences well over one million readers. Webcomics range from traditional comic strips and graphic novels to avant garde comics, and cover many genres, styles, and subjects. They sometimes take on the role of a comic blog. Dave Kellett
Dave Kellett is the creator and cartoonist of two webcomic titles, ''Sheldon'' and '' Drive'', and the co-author of ''How To Make Webcomics''. Early years and education Kellett is a southern California native. He graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a bachelor's degree in English and Spanish. While there, he produced the daily comic strip ''Four Groups of the Apocalypse'' for the student newspaper ''The Observer.'' He earned a master's degree from University of California, San Diego in Literature with his thesis, "To draw in the crowd : the cartoon and the 'public sphere' of eighteenth-century England." He received the Rotary Foundation Ambassadorial Scholarship, to attend the University of Kent at Canterbury in England (within the Centre for Cartooning and Caricature Studies). Overwatch (digital Comic Series)
''Overwatch'' is a digital comic series published online by Blizzard Entertainment and republished by Dark Horse Comics, featuring events surrounding the characters of the ''Overwatch'' universe. It was published between April 2016 and April 2018. Blizzard uses the comic series, along with animated media, fictional news reports, and online character biographies, to develop the narrative of ''Overwatch'', as the video game includes no traditional story or campaign mode. Development Blizzard did not include a traditional campaign or story mode in the ''Overwatch'' video game. Instead, Blizzard opted to develop the story and lore of the ''Overwatch'' universe through a transmedia storytelling method, including animated shorts and comic titles. Dean Edmund Haspiel (born May 31, 1967 in New York City) is an American comic book artist, writer, and playwright. He is known for creating Billy Dogma, The Red Hook, and for his collaborations with writer Harvey Pekar on his ''American Splendor'' series as well as the graphic novel ''The Quitter'', and for his collaborations with Jonathan Ames on ''The Alcoholic'' and HBO's ''Bored to Death''. Michelle Phan (born April 11, 1987) is an American beauty YouTuber. She is the founder and owner of the multimillion-dollar cosmetics line EM Cosmetics. Early life Michelle Phan was born on April 11, 1987, in Boston, Massachusetts. Both her parents were of Vietnamese origin. Phan has an elder brother and younger half-sister. ''Les Culottées'' is a blog BD (French webcomic in blog format) written by Pénélope Bagieu in 2016. Published on the website of ''Le Monde'', Bagieu uses ''Les Culottées'' to tell short biographical stories about women. Each comic features a woman from the past or present with an unusual or inspiring story. Bagieu produced one comic a week from January to October 2016, and eventually released the comics in book form. The stories were split into two print publications in France with the subtitle ''Des Femmes Qui ne Font Que ce Qu’elles Veulent'' (Women Who Do as They Please). Each one contained fifteen short stories. The work was released In English as one volume with the title ''Brazen: Rebel Ladies Who Rocked the World''. The English version has only 29 stories instead of the original 30, as "Phoolan Devi, the Indian Queen of Bandits" was removed because it included the rape of a ten-year-old girl by her husband. ''Slate'' is an online magazine that covers current affairs, politics, and culture in the United States. Boulet (comics)
Boulet, the pen name for Gilles Roussel (), is a French comic book creator and cartoonist born 1 February 1975 in Meaux, France. He was among the first French cartoonists to become famous by publishing a blog BD, starting in July 2004. Biography Roussel studied art at the Graduate School of Decorative Arts in Strasbourg. In 2001, he published his first comic strip, '' Raghnarok''. He then started a cartoon blog on the internet in July 2004, which made him well known in France. Since then, he has worked for French comics strip magazine Tchô ! and Psikopat, and on many others as an author or cartoonist. He replaced Lewis Trondheim as cartoonist of the comic strip ''Donjon Zénith''.
