Television in Belgium was introduced in 1953 and began with one channel each in Dutch and French. The country is heavily cabled, with 93% of households watching television through cable as of 2003. They constitute separate markets, the common feature of which is the fact that they have been extensively cabled for three decades and are thus able to receive neighbouring countries' channels. Laura Tesoro (born 19 August 1996) is a Belgian singer and actress. She represented Belgium in the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 with the song " What's the Pressure". Tesoro is also known for portraying Charlotte on the Flemish soap opera ''Familie'', and placing second on season three of ''The Voice van Vlaanderen''. The singer is also one of the four coaches on ''The Voice Kids''. Biography 1996–2014: Early life and career beginnings Tesoro was born on 19 August 1996 in Antwerp to an Italian father and a Belgian mother. She had her first acting role in the Flemish crime drama ''Witse'' as Evy Cuypers in 2008, and went on to perform in musicals such as ''Annie'' and ''Domino''. She performed at Ketnetpop in 2009. The Eurovision Song Contest 2016 was the 61st edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. It took place in Stockholm, Sweden, following the country's victory at the with the song "Heroes" by Måns Zelmerlöw. "What's the Pressure" is a song performed by Belgian singer Laura Tesoro. The song represented Belgium in the Eurovision Song Contest 2016. The song was released as a digital download in Belgium on 17 January 2016 through VRT Line Extensions. It was ultimately placed tenth in the aforementioned competition with 181 points from the forty two voting nations. The Voice Van Vlaanderen
''The Voice van Vlaanderen'' (; English-Dutch for ''The Voice of Flanders'') is a Belgian reality singing competition for the Flemish part of Belgium. It is part of the franchise that started in the Netherlands as ''The Voice of Holland''. It kicked off on November 25, 2011 on VTM, shortly before the francophone Belgian variant ''The Voice Belgique'' went on air. As of 2022, the show has aired for eight seasons. One of the important premises of the show is the quality of the singing talent. Four coaches, themselves popular performing artists, train the talents in their group and occasionally perform with them. ''Samson & Gert'' is a Flemish children's television series produced by Eline van Noppen, centered on the talking dog Samson and his owner Gert. In its entire run, the show was originally aired on TV1 from Christmas Day 1989 until 1 December 1997, where it moved to Ketnet and continues airing all of its episodes to this day. ''Mega Mindy'' is a Flemish children's television series with a supernatural/superhero drama theme. The series was created by Studio 100 and airs on the Flemish TV channel Ketnet. It centers around a young woman, Mieke, (Free Souffriau), who lives with her grandparents and works as a police officer but also has a secret identity as superhero Mega Mindy. She tries to keep it a secret, but falls in love with Toby (Louis Talpe) who also works at the police. He is in love with Mega Mindy and does not know that Mieke secretly likes him and is actually Mega Mindy. She tries to find a way to balance between work and being a superhero, but it is not always easy.
