The 2016 World Mixed Curling Championship was held from October 14 to 22 at the Sport Palace in Kazan, Russia. Among the 37 participating nations, Andorra, Croatia, South Korea and the Netherlands debuted on this event, while China, Israel and Lithuania didn't participate this time. Kazan
Kazan ( ; rus, Казань, p=kɐˈzanʲ; tt-Cyrl, Казан, ''Qazan'', IPA: ɑzan is the capital and largest city of the Republic of Tatarstan in Russia. The city lies at the confluence of the Volga and the Kazanka rivers, covering an area of , with a population of over 1.2 million residents, up to roughly 1.6 million residents in the urban agglomeration. World Curling Federation
The World Curling Federation (WCF) is the world governing body for curling accreditation, with offices in Perth, Scotland. It was formed out of the International Curling Federation (ICF), when the push for Olympic Winter Sport status was made. The name was changed in 1990. The ICF was initially formed in 1966 as a committee of the Royal Caledonian Curling Club in Perth after the success of the Scotch Cup series of world championships held between Canada and Scotland. At the outset, it comprised the associations of Scotland, Canada, Sweden, Norway, Switzerland, and the United States. In the wake of its formation, it sanctioned the World Curling Championships. The WCF currently sanctions 15 international curling events (see below). Mayumi Ohkutsu (; born July 12, 1968, in Obihiro, Hokkaido, Japan) as Mayumi Seguchi; also known as Mayumi Seguchi-Ohkutsu, Mayumi Seguchi-Okutsu) is a Japanese curler, a five-time (1991, 1993, 1995, 1996, 1997) and a six-time Japan women's champion (1991, 1992, 1993, 1996, 1997, 1998). Sophie Jackson
Sophie Jackson (born 22 July 1996, in Dumfries) is a Scottish curler. She currently plays lead on Team Rebecca Morrison. Career Juniors Jackson twice skipped Team Scotland at the World Junior Curling Championships. Her first was in 2016, when she led her team of Naomi Brown, Rachael Halliday and Rachel Hannen to a 2-7 record. This relegated Scotland to the World Junior-B Curling Championships for the following season. In 2017, she once again skipped the Scottish junior team. She and teammates of Brown, Mili Smith and Sophie Sinclair won the Junior B championships, earning the right to represent Scotland at the 2017 World Junior Curling Championships. At the World Juniors, her team continued her winning ways, finishing the round robin tied with Sweden's Isabella Wranå rink for first with a 7-2 record. Bobby Lammie
Bobby Lammie (born 10 February 1997) is a Scottish curler, originally from Stranraer. He currently plays second on Team Bruce Mouat. Career Juniors Lammie has been a part of the Mouat rink since 2015 when they were in juniors. Lammie was the alternate on the team at the 2015 World Junior Curling Championships, where they won a bronze medal. The following year, Lammie was promoted to third, and they won a gold medal at the 2016 World Junior Curling Championships. The following year, the team won the gold medal at the 2017 Winter Universiade. While the team was still in juniors, they won the 2015 Dumfries Challenger Series World Curling Tour event. Their gold medal at the 2016 World Juniors qualified the rink to play in the 2016 Humpty's Champions Cup Grand Slam event, where they lost in a tiebreaker.
