Hvidovre Curling Club
Hvidovre is the main town in Hvidovre Municipality, Denmark. The town, a suburb of Copenhagen, is about 10 km southwest of the capital's center. It is the 2nd biggest suburb of Copenhagen, only beaten by Frederiksberg. History Hvidovre has been inhabited since prehistoric times. In 1929, a 3,500-year-old sword from the Bronze Age was excavated in Hvidovre. A farm, Ovre (Aworthe), was located in the area in about 1170 when Esbern Snare gave it to Sorø Abbey that later passed it on to Absalon, Bishop Absalon. A church was built during the Romanesque period. The name Hvidovre, meaning White Ovre, refers to the colour of the church, which was built in white chalk, as opposed to the one in Rødovre, Red Ovre, which was built in red brick. Kalle Kiiskinen (born 6 September 1975 in Hyvinkää) is a Finnish curler. In Juniors, Kiiskinen played for Perttu Piilo and won a silver medal as his third at the 1997 World Junior Curling Championships. Pauli Jäämies (born April 22, 1985 in Clearwater, Florida) is a Finnish curler from Helsinki. He currently plays for the Finnish national team, skipped by Aku Kauste. He is known for sporting long black dreadlocks. Jäämies made his international debut for Finland at the 2012 European Mixed Curling Championship, winning a bronze medal playing second on the team. Later that year he played for Finland at the 2012 European Curling Championships. The team, skipped by Kauste finished 11th place, and qualified for the 2013 Ford World Men's Curling Championship. At the Worlds, the Kauste rink finished last (12th), with a 2-9 record. Later in the year, the team played in the 2014 Olympic qualifying event, but failed to qualify having won just two games. Kasper Hakunti (born November 17, 1988) is a Finnish curler. Hakunti competed at the 2015 Ford World Men's Curling Championship in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, as vice-skip for the Finnish national curling team. Aku Kauste (born 17 November 1979) is a Finnish curler from Helsinki. He is currently the skip for the national team of Finland. Kauste is one of the most successful curling players in Finland, with over 20 medals in the Finnish Curling Championships (juniors, men's, mixed, mixed doubles). Career Kauste started curling in 1994 with his father Timo Kauste. In 1998, Kauste made his first international appearance at the World Junior Curling Championships. Oliver Dupont (born 16 January 1990) is a Danish curler. He won a gold medal at the 2009 World Junior Curling Championships. Career Juniors As a junior curler, Dupont competed in five consecutive World Junior Curling Championships with Denmark from 2006 to 2010. Denmark's best result was in 2009, when they won their first ever junior title. Dupont's all-time World Junior Curling Championship personal record is 22–19. Troels Harry (born 25 December 1990) is a Danish curler. He is a former world junior champion and current Danish champion. Career Harry has represented Denmark in four World Junior Championships. He played lead for Rasmus Stjerne in 2007 and 2008, finishing fourth and seventh, respectively. In 2009, Denmark, with Harry as lead under Stjerne, made the playoffs. They were defeated by Canada in the page 1 vs. 2 game, but rebounded with a win over the United States in the semifinal and defeated Canada in the final to win the gold medal.
